The delights of holidays with kids in cars.
The Road Trip.

Mum, Dad, three boys and Gran,

all loaded into the car.

Blankets, pillows teddies and toys,

excited to see how far.

Chocolates, lollies, drinks and  books,

all manner of things to do.

Keep the boys busy till they finally

reach The Open Plain Zoo.

Songs and games to play

As we drive along the country track,

don’t stop the ‘Are we there yet!”

chorused from the back.

Stop to stretch and run around

Laugh and chase and push on swings.

Take in the sights, a photo or two

Add a souvenir to the stack of things.

The trip is long, the boys are tired

but Dad pushes on to reach his destination.

Next morning we all awake fresh and bright

eager to start again, full of motivation.
