A Mother's Love

A child came into this world
when his time was here to come
As a single mother I was blessed
and welcomed a brand new son

We both shared a special moment
which was something I enjoyed
For reality would set in soon
I’m responsible for a baby boy

I held him close, hugged him tight
against my beating heart
He’ll find safety in my arms
and in times when we're apart

A bond so strong and powerful
forever as mother and son
My love for him has no end
and will never be undone

He’s the treasure in my soul
the infinite light I see
