My MoonBeam The moonlight cascades through glass to light your sleeping face and the stars glitter in the sky above like a million tiny sparks of my love. Seems like so long ago That I first held your hand And pressed my lips to yours Handing myself completely over to you. It hasn’t always been easy; We’ve had our share of hard times And yet, in the darkness My love for you shines brightest. Perhaps I haven’t told you enough When you’re awake and listening Just how you make my body sing to the tune you make my soul dance. It’s so much easier, here, in the silence To caress your face and whisper the words, Never having to really wonder if you Feel the same connection. But last night, as the moon shone in And I watched you sleeping, I knew That these things, these feelings, Had to be shared with you. And so, I had to find a way to express All the sentiments my lips can’t always form So you never have to doubt That you are the love of my life. You are my moonbeam, the beautiful Solace found in the darkness and The other half of a soul who was, Before you, lost in the shadows.
