                              Ghazal 262


Persian:  Sabzaha naudameed o yaar niaamad
              Taaza shud baagh o aan nigaar niaamad
Urdu:      Sabza o gul haen aur yaar naheen
              Baagh taaza hay aur nigaar naheen

English:=== The flowers have come but she's not here
                  And without that gal there is no cheer
                                        -

Persian:  Naubahar aamad o hareef e sharaabam
              Ba tamaasha e naubahaar niaamad
Urdu:      Naubahaaraan hay aur aaya wo
              Ba tamaasha e naubahaar naheen

English:=== O of my doll what has become
                  To see the flowers she hasn't come?
                                        -

Persian:  Chashm e mun jooaibaar gasht zay girya
              Sarv e mun soo e jooaibaar niaamad
Urdu:      Chashm hay jooaibaar, aata per
              Sarv wo soo e jooaibaar naheen

English:=== We have in the garden tree after tree
                  But my graceful cypress I do not see
                                          -

Persian:  Aamad aan gul keh baaz raft zay bustaan
              Weh keh aan aashna e yaar niaamad
Urdu:      Pehloo e baagh maen raha laikin
              Gul bana aashna e yaar naheen

English:=== And though they do not lack in grace
                  The flowers are dying to see her face
                                            -

Persian:  Khoon e dil khurdam o basoakhtam,aaray
              Bar kas aan baada khushgawaar niaamad
Urdu:      Khoon e dil peena aur jiger khhaana
              Aashqi kaar e khushgawaar naheen

English:=== But falling in love is not very smart
                  For you drink your blood and eat your heart
                                            -

Persian:  Aan cheh az gham guzisht bar dil e KHUSRO
              Her kira guftam, ustawaar niaamad
Urdu:      Baar KHUSRO pay hay teray jitna
              Gham ka itna kisi pay baar naheen

                  In love there's also a lot of pain
