short poem I wrote on a Greyhound bus years ago |
| Silent as a thin fragile butterfly Again I flutter into your life In and out on a wispy breeze Whispering my presence As I return from another world Separate and unknown to yours As I pass into your reality Coming closer to where you lay Faint little thoughts of me Linger on the fringes of your mind Dancing in and out as I draw nearer Like a small fragile butterfly Flutters by - leaving traces Of the love I feel for you Tonight you will wonder Where I may be and why Your thoughts keep returning To simple moments of talk and laughter As I draw nearer the warmth grows Like a tiny fragile butterfly I'll flutter into your heart Where I live and call my home. |
