A Soul's Descent

Awaiting my turn for my earthly descent,
I thank God for giving me this chance.
To spend time on a planet I've only seen from a distance.
The chance to learn from others who aren't so different.
The anticipation almost too much to bear.
Will I be dark or will I be fair?
Will I be short, or will I be tall?
Will I be able to handle this call?
Our heavenly host, so gracious and kind.
A grand opportunity, if only for a short time.
Beautiful it is here, with all the light, silver and gold.
Love abundantly apparent, no secrets to unfold.
But on earth, mysteries abound.
Lesson to be learned, blessings to recount.
I am grateful for the time I will spend.
Hopefully,I won't quickly forget.
