When Roger and Tory brought a new human being into the world they named him Troger to show he was both of them.
Troger went to Rutgers University on a football schoarship but his real interest was horror movies. He majored in organ performance and theatre. He planned a career as another Vincent Price.
Why organ? He loved horror movies and organs go with funerals. Bach's most famous organ composition Toccata and Fugue attrcted Troger's attention before he ever heard of the Beatles.
He picked one of the oldest universities in the United States. Rutgers University dates all the way back to 1766. How many universities existed even before the American revolution?
Troger could have chosen from one of many campuses but he specifically wanted New Brunswick. New Brunswick unlike campuses in Camden or Newark is the flagship campus of Rutgers University.
Troger decided against a career in football after reading an article in The Daily Targum, Rutgers famous student newspaper. According to the article, some football players develop brain disease from concussions.
Paul Robson was the most famous graduate of Rutgers. Robson who played for the Scarlet Knights football team just like Troger made an international name as a singer and went on to law school. Robson set an excellent example for other blacks by getting a higher education inspite of enormous obstacles.
After finishing a Bachelor of Music Troger tried to make it as a combination musician goth personality. However, he couldn't make a living at it.
He decided to change careers and become a physician assistant. To fulfill his goal he had to go back to school. The vast majority of physician assistant programs are master's degree programs.
A number of older universities including Rutgers University don't offer PA degree programs. The profession didn't even get invented before 1965 so Troger didn't have alot of choices for graduate school. Yale University is the one and only ivy league school with a PA program.
People often confuse physician assistants with medical assistants or nurses but PAs have much more responsibilty. A physician assistant does almost exactly the same things as a physician while they work under a physician's supervision.
Troger went on to PA school at Yale University one of the most gothic campuses in the United States. Troger's hearse with custom stereo blaring "Funeral For A Friend" or some other really dark tune fit in perfectly.
Yale University is so tough they require every student in the graduate PA program to write a thesis. The vast majority of PA programs don't require a thesis but Troger picked a highly rated program.
Troger did his thesis about prescribing beta blockers to asthmatics when the benefits outweigh the risks. Usually beta blockers are contraindicated for asthmatics so Troger's thesis took on a difficult subject. Yale loved it so much he won the award for best PA thesis.
Yale is where several United States presidnts started out. The Yale School of Drama produced the likes of Maryl Streep and Sigourney Weaver. Yale College {Yale's Undergraduate School} produced Jodie Foster and Maryl Streep.
After Troger finished PA school he took a job at a Tampa Hospital. While working in the emergency room Troger didn't get many pediatric patients but when he did they loved him. How many kids get to meet a real goth with an organ and hearse?
He fell madly in love with a nurse named Autumn. Autumn studied at an old fashioned hospital based nursing school in New Jersey before moving to Tampa.
Troger met Autumn at a bar on Clearwater Beach called The Garden State. As the name implies, New Jersey is the bar's theme and most of the regulars are New Jersey natives.
Autumn's family goes way back in New Jersey to before the revolutionary war. One of her relatives lived in Trenton during the short time {November and December 1784} it was capitol of The United States. If you ask anybody from New Jersey it should still be capitol.
Autumn is a goth just like Troger but she is less obvious about it. She has a New Jersey devil tattooed on her back but keeps her other side private.
To Troger and Autumn nothing beat watching the Scarlet Knights or New Jersey Knicks or New Jersey Devils and devouring a Philly Steak Sandwich. After they fell in love, Troger convinced Autumn to join him in Central Florida Hospital's emergency room.
They married in the same synogogue of Camden New Jersy where Autumn grew up. Autumn's relatives lived in one of the nation's most famous Russian Jewish enclaves. The wedding guests dined on herring and played klezmer music. It looked like a scene from Fidler On The Roof.
Central Florida Osteopathic Hospital started out near Ybor City after they bought out Centro Espanol Hospital. As the hospital grew they needed more room so they rented space in a Tampa skyscraper.
The emergency room is for A personalities. Troger and Autumn didn't want the leisurely life of a walk in clinic or medical examiner. They wanted to be where the action is and Troger's huge ego expanded with giving orders to nurses.
Troger couldn't order around nurse practitioners but his emergency room didn't have a single one. Autumn was a BSN {Bachelor of Science in Nursing} and many RN's don't even have that much training.
One day Autumn decided to enter medical school.
"You want to do what?"
Troger asked incredulously.
"I want to go to medical school at Lake Erie"
"How can you go to medical school while working?"
"Lake Erie Medical School of Bradenton Florida allows health care professionals to independent study for a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine."
"You mean it's all independent study?"
"No. Some coursework is clinical and you get a study group."
When Troger told his pals at The Garden State Bar about his wife's new idea, they couldn't quite grasp his anger. One inquired,
"Why don't you join her? You could both be physicians."
Troger replied,
"Someone has to raise our daughter Drizzle, pay the bills, and I'm through with school. With any luck she will flunk out and act like a normal wife."
