The Martian Who Cared
A funny poem about a lifeform from Mars who attacks Earth.

Some creature from Mars was plotting and dealing,
And soon, all the humans on Earth would be reeling.
This villainous Martian was formulating a plan
To end life on this planet for every woman and man!

This ruinous horror was about to be hatched,
And not a single being would survive being scratched;
From a nuclear rocket ship, all life would be gassed,
A bomb would explode spreading germs from its blast…

So the alien spacecraft travelled millions of miles,
Filled to the brim with those gaseous vials.
When he finally reached Earth, the bomb blew with such force
That all of the humans were now harmed by this source.

Then, from his perch, he saw gasping and pain –
He was struck with such awe that he could not refrain.
The crying and anguish caused him so much remorse,
And took his cruel mind on a much different course…

He ran to his lab where he’d developed a cure,
His remedy to this ghastly and ungodly germ tour.
He placed the vaccine on a pod which he sent
On toward the planet which he’d gassed, with intent.

When the vaccine arrived, all the humans were saved,
And from then on, this Martian grew so well-behaved;
This now-gentle creature would attack us no more –
He regretted the chaos he’d caused once before…
