Heartbroken a personal journey that I face without fear
believing in my Savior, seeing my life flash before me, bright shining lights falling exploding on our platoon; why now confused in hospital, my wife beside me whispering her tears, trying to tell me I'm dying. This mental vision of discovery in my state; moments of disorientation posing questions, waking with a perception of invincible feelings. Wandering through this journey of deep sleep my altered senses, of experiencing the unknown in chemistry producing the mild sense of euphoria, dreaming a scene knowing the sadness of loneliness. Nurse, please tell me why would I be speaking in riddles, it’s almost like a veil is being lifted seeing my wedding day, happily married that day in the fall with leaves a carpet of gold. “Doctor, why was my husband trying to get out of bed today, while fumbling trying to hold onto me talking all the time, his romance of touching my lips for a sweet kiss again?” “In my experience his eyes will open without seeing, while talking as you have been doing today.” “Yes! He was singing our favorite hymn whispering his love to remember me, and your kindness as a Doctor praying earnestly for his soul." "The body of Christ broken blessed by means of grace, what a friend you have in Heaven, the Angels singing songs of praises." Note. In memory of a dear friend.
