Autumn's Coming

Now the leaves are edged with gold,
Glories of the Fall unfold,
Reddened sun-rays, shortened days,
Light the trees with golden blaze.

Winds grow fresher, days are chill,
Berries fall on window-sill,
Sweep the leaves and make a pile,
Sit around the hearth awhile.

Time to don a hat and coat,
Gloves on hands and scarf at throat,
Boots to kick the leaves about,
Hear the children laugh and shout.

In September's amber glow,
Just enjoy the lovely show,
Look around at Nature's art,
Scenes to lift and cheer your heart.
