Unexpected Joy
My flower garden is a gift There is nothing that can compare. Cool soil gets beneath my nails A sweet breeze blows through my hair. The song of a colorful bird In a feeder that stands close by Salty sweat as it drips and stings Pooling in corner of my eye. Time passes quickly, cares melt away Serenity overtakes my soul With love and anticipation Colorful world of green and gold. There is something about my garden That evokes hope in what will be. Possibly a patch of Lilies Or maybe just a patch of weeds. Whatever comes from my toiling In this blend of soil and love I am thankful for the pleasures Of delicate blessings from above.
