November 6, 2006
I went to Cuesta in Paso Robles and printed out my story "Vore Girls" and mailed it off to Asimov's. November 9, 2006 I e-mailed a story I had already written called "The Hook-Up" to a magazine called Twisted Tongue. November 12, 2006 I e-mailed a story to Strange Horizons magazine. November 16, 2006 I e-mailed a story called "Stature Statute" to a magazine called Abyss & Apex. November 18, 2006 I e-mailed a story called "The Micro-Files" to a semi-pro magazine called Atomjack. Thanksgiving I spent a few days at my Aunt's house in Artesia. I did some volunteer work for a church on Thanksgiving day, and I had a good time with my family. December 3, 2006 I got a rejection e-mail from Abyss & Apex magazine. It said my story was well-received, but that's what they tell everyone, because a friend of mine at Giantess.com said he received the same reply from them when he got rejected. I e-mailed a story to Far Sector. December 17, 2006 "The Micro-Files" was rejected by Atomjack magazine because I posted a message in the forum talking shit about their response time. I e-mailed the story to Shimmer magazine. December 18, 2006 Twisted Tongue accepted my story "The Hook-Up." December 19, 2006 Far Sector e-mailed me and said they were going out of business. December 21, 2006 Shimmer rejected my Microfiles story, so I sent them another story called "Stature Statute." December 23, 2006 At the library in S.L.O., I e-mailed a story that got rejected to a magazine called "Dark Wisdom." I got on the Amtrak and went to L.A. to visit my Aunt and Uncle. On Christmas I sent a story called "Shelly's captive" to a new magazine. December 27, 2006 I came back up on the train. Between December 27 and December 31 I made the decision to quit smoking and start bodybuilding. Tuesday, May 29, 2007 I called Mike at 9:00 AM after I had eaten breakfast and showered, and he told me to meet him at the office at 10:00 AM. During our one on one, Mike informed me that I would have to be on my best behavior for three months before I can have Internet in my room. After our meeting, I went to go pull out $70 and returned to the office to repay Jim the $5 I borrowed from him when I got released from A.S.H. on Wednesday. I took the bus to Costco, and when I was done shopping, my box of groceries seemed to weigh over fifty pounds. I caught the Route 4 and transferred to the 6A that took me to Murray and Casa. After I got home, I asked Larry if he wanted to walk with me to Albertson's, because I needed potatoes and iced tea, and it would've been too heavy to carry if I'd bought it all at Costco. When we got home, me and Larry had milkshakes. I watched TV the rest of the afternoon then cooked dinner. During the evening and even past 9:00 PM, I had the desire to fix a cup of instant Folger's. I drank several cups of instant iced tea, but the urge for coffee was still strong. Going from having nothing in A.S.H. to having choices in what I eat and drink is a harsh transition. I managed to force myself to wait until morning to drink coffee. Wednesday, May 30, 2007 I woke up and took my meds at 7:20, then I ate breakfast and gave larry a potato burrito. Mike was supposed to arrive at 1:30 to take me to Conrep to pick up the rest of my stuff, so while I waited between 11:00 AM and noon, I cleaned my room, because in my one on one with Mike yesterday, he indicated that was important. Mike came right on time, and we went and got most of my stuff. My chest is still in a van that got in an accident, and Mike said it was parked in a yard near the county jail. I spent about an hour and a half organizing my stuff, and I got my computer hooked up and turned on, and it still works. It took a long time to fix my drafting table, and it's not in great shape, but it'll be okay. Around 3:00 PM I called socialization and spoke to Megan, and she said my referral wasn't in yet, but told me it was okay to show up anyway, since I was already in the system. We ate beef fajitas, and after dinner, we watched episodes of "I Love Lucy" that someone had brought on DVD. When I got home from socialization at 8:00 PM, I did a load of laundry and took my meds. My laundry was dry at 10:00 PM and I folded it and went to bed. Thursday, May 31, 2007 I woke up and ate breakfast, then I showered and headed over to Conrep for the Thursday morning group. After waiting for twenty minutes, Jim informed me and Dave that there was no group today, because it was the fifth Thursday of the month. I did get one thing accomplished while I was there; I put in a request to team to visit my Aunt for the 4th of July. Next, I went to the library and got on a computer and submitted a story to Atomjack magazine. During the time I was online I also transcribed part of a chapter of one of my stories in a notebook and transferred it to Writing.com. When I got home, I did two loads of laundry and ate lunch. I spent the afternoon watching TV, and cooked dinner while I waited for the second load of laundry to dry. Around 5:30 PM I tried to work on a story on my computer in my bedroom, but for some reason the keyboard wouldn't work. I unhooked it and hooked up my old keyboard, but it wouldn't work,l either. I gave up and shut the computer off, but came back about ten minutes later and pushed the keyboard wire connection firmly into the back of the computer, and for some reason it worked that time. I transcribed the first portion of an incomplete chapter of a story I started in A.S.H. into the computer, then added to it and copied what I typed back into the notebook. Friday, June 1, 2007 I went with Larry to socialization in the morning. I packed a lunch, which made a difference, because back in 2006 when I went there I never did, and I starved all day. We had a discussion group from 11:00 AM to noon, then we broke for lunch. At 12:30, we got in the vans and headed to Avila Beach. I had my Walkman with me, so I listened to music while I kicked back and watched boats go by. It was cloudy, so there weren't too many people. When it was time to go, I got dropped off at the library. I had my backpack with me, and inside was my portfolio with the notebook that has the story I worked on with my home computer. I typed in between six and seven kilobytes of story at Writing.com, which is pretty decent. Also while I was on the Internet, I went to the website of Twisted Tongue, the semi-pro magazine that accepted one of my stories back in December, and found out that my story "The Hook-Up" was published in their February 2007 issue. When I got home, I called my mom, my Aunt Josey, and my sister Shanna and told them the good news. My sister Shanna said she is sending me a package with a case of Cup-of-Noodles and Folger's coffee. Saturday, June 2, 2007 I woke up and took my meds, ate breakfast and laid in bed most of the morning. At 10:00 AM, I went to the library and got on the Internet. While I was there, I looked in the Writer's Market book and found out about a science fiction magazine I had never heard of that I'd like to submit to. When I got home, I got a dollar I had and bought a double cheeseburger at Burger King. I've been pretty good about not eating fast food. On Tuesday, when I got paid, I bought groceries without even stopping at any fast food places. I took a nap in the afternoon, then I went to Albertson's with Larry and helped him carry ice cream and milk back. When we got home, we had milkshakes and I watched Punk'd on MTV2. In the early evening I confronted Dale while he smoked a cigarette in the doorway in front of his bedroom. He does it all the time, and the smoke drifts into my bedroom. He said he would "try" to stop doing it, but it was cold outside. I hope he stops, because I'm in my seventh week of not smoking, and it's a challenge to maintain my sobriety to nicotene when I'm barraged with tobacco smoke all the time. Sunday, June 3, 2007 I woke up and cooked breakfast, then I watched TV for a while. A while later I microwaved a couple of burritos left over from breakfast, then I hopped in the shower, put on clean clothes, and headed over to Cal Poly. I had spent a couple of hours on my computer at home composing the second half of the most recent chapter of the story I startedf at A.S.H., then I transcribed it into the notebook I use. At Cal Poly, I re-typed this information from the notebook into the chapter at Writing.com. After I finished editing the story, I copied and pasted it at my webpage, then I copied and pasted it at Giantess Magic. Some of the guys at Giantess Magic don't like my story because it's too violent, but I don't care, because you can't please everyone. While I was on the computer, I looked up an AA in English degree at the Cuesta college website, and was surprised to find that there were no general education requirements or math requirements, just English classes. Afterwards I went home and ate dinner, and stayed at home and watched TV. Monday, June 4, 2007 I woke up and ate breakfast, then I packed a lunch for myself and walked with Larry to socialization. On the way there, Larry had to take a dump at Burger King, and while I waited outside for him, there was a guy named Dennis hanging out and he threw me a rolled up dollar bill. At socialization we had a group about strengthening our minds, and I mentioned that I got a short story published in a science fiction magazine. At lunch time I used the dollar Dennis gave me to buy a 44 ounce soda at the gas station, and I also had a quarter I found in a newspaper machine. At 1:00 PM we did paintings, and I did a rocket that I colored with colored pencils. I took the drawing home with me and hung it on my bedroom wall. While I was waiting for my chicken to cook in the oven, I watched TV as Dale drank milk and ate crackers. Every time he sipped his milk, he made a disgusting slurping sound and I had to get up and wait in my room until he was done. Every time Dale eats something with liquid in it, like soup or cereal, he slurps very loudly and it's sickening. Tuesday, June 5, 2007 Last night, I hooked my computer up to the Internet. I copied and pasted stories from my hard drive to Writing.com, and I e-mailed the moderator of Giantess.com and asked him to change my handle from Deuce Micro to Ace Corona. I was really scared, because Mike had told me I had to wait three months before I could have Internet. When I met with Mike at 2:30 PM, I confessed to what I did because I didn't want to be paranoid about it any more. Mike was unimpressed that I admitted the truth to him, and he rode my ass about it for about half an hour. When I got my $65, I went to Scolari's and bought a three ring binder. Then I went to the library and printed out a story I'm working on, and used a hole-puncher so I could stick it in my new binder. As I read the sory, I saw mistakes and got on another computer at the library and made the corrections. Then I went to AM/PM and bought a 64 ounce plastic cup and bought dinner at Jack in the Box. When I got home, I had Larry bring his backpack and he walked with me to Albertson's to buy groceries for the week. I needed the backpack for a ten pound sack of potatoes and two gallons of milk. Wednesday, June 6, 2007 I woke up kind of late this morning, at 9:30 AM and took my meds right away. I still keep track of my meds each day on a piece of paper, and it comes in handy when I can't remember if I took my meds. Mike arranged to come by in the afternoon, to take the Internet circuit board from my computer. He came just after 3:00 PM, and he was supposed to bring me a printer, but he said he couldn't do it until Friday. After he left, I started working on chapter six of a novel I'm working on. The first five chapters are on the Internet, at Writing.com and at my giantess webpage. I worked on the story until after 9:00 PM, then I stopped and took my meds. After writing an extensive amount of writing on my computer, I found that as I read through it there were a lot of little changes I needed to make, and things I needed to add. Writing is fun, but it occupies a lot of time. For dinner around 7:00 PM, I baked two potatoes and two pieces of chicken breast. That's been a pretty solid dinner for me the whole time I've been out. I bought the chicken at Costco. Thursday, June 7, 2007 I woke up and took a shower and ate breakfast, then I left after 9:00 AM to go to Conrep to pay rent. I got there about 9:45 AM, but John told me to come back at 10:00 AM. I went to Barnes & Noble, and saw a book on creating comics I'd like to get. I need to save up $50 to renew my membership at Costco, so it'll be a while before I can get the book. I returned to Conrep and paid rent, then I attended group and saw Art, my roommate from A.S.H. During group Art talked about his delusions and his crime, and I reassured him that I could relate to him because I have a history of delusions, too. After group, I went to the library and checked my messages at various websites, and did some editing on the story I'm working on. I also signed up for Paypal, so I can use my checking account at Bank of America to buy a copy of the magazine my story was published in. I found out the website that sells copies of Twisted Tongue magazine only accepts credit cards and Paypal. I got home and made bean burritos for lunch, then got on my computer and worked on chapter six of the giantess story I'm working on. I worked from 12:30 PM until 5:30 PM, then cooked and ate dinner, then I worked on the story until almost 8:00 PM. A lot of what I did was editing, and it takes a great deal of time. Friday, June 8, 2007 I woke up and took my meds just before 7:15 AM, then I got right to work editing chapter six of my latest giantess story on my home computer. Around 9:00 AM, there was still more I wanted to do, but I forced myself to stop and eat breakfast and go to socialization. I walked to socialization with Larry. The discussion topic was about an article written anonymously for the June socialization newsletter. The person seemed very angry about the mental health system, and I shared my opinion several times that I felt the person was in denial about their mental illness, which is something I went through when I was first diagnosed. After socialization I went to the library and got on the Internet for an hour. When I got home, I resumed work editing my story chapter. Although extremely fun, editing seems like a never-ending process. Mike arrived with the printer he was giving me, but when we hooked it up, it didn't work. While Mike was still here, I got a call from my youngest sister, who's 27. She was on her way from San Diego to Monterey, and stopped by to see me. She took me to Leon's and bought me a used copy of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, then bought me dinner at Foster's Freeze. When she left, she gave me $11.00 and I went to barnes & Noble and bought Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Saturday, June 9, 2007 I woke up around 8:00 AM and took my meds, then I got to work transcribing my giantess story chapter from my computer to my notebook. After a couple of hours, I had nearly ten pages written down, so I took the notebook and went to the library and re-typed it into Writing.com on one of the library computers. I spent one hour on a computer I had to sign up for with a receptionist, then I got on another computer I had to enter my library card serial number to get on. In total, I was online for two hours. I went home and did a load of laundry and took a shower, and I found a plastic file box nobody was using under the lean-to, and cleaned it up and put it in my room. From early afternoon until some time after six, I transcribed my story until I got hungry and made dinner. I had two baked potatoes and two chicken breasts. After dinner, I went back to work copying my story into the story notebook. In total, starting in the morning until 9:00 PM, I transcribed twenty-four pages. The middle finger of my right hand is sore, and I still haven't completely copied what is on the computer. I've transcribed I'd say a good ninety percent of it. Sunday, June 10, 2007 Last night, the phone rang, and I answered it. It was a woman, and she asked for Larry. When Larry hung up, he informed me that he had just found out that his ex-girlfriend Vicki had died recently. Her mother had called. I went to sleep with my door unlocked, and after midnight, Larry burst into my room and told me Vicki was on her way over. A while later, I talked to Larry about it, and he said he was sleepwalking when he burst into my room. I was so shook up that I couldn't sleep, so I got back to work transcribing my story into my notebook. Just before 4:00 AM, I made some refried bean and cheese burritos, then I finished transcribing my giantess story before 4:30 AM. I decided that from now on when I got to sleep at night, I'll lock my door so no one can walk in on me when I'm asleep. At noon, after not sleeping since 1:00 AM, I walked to Cal Poly and experienced sensations in my chest and dizziness. Luckily, an RTA bus came by and I had a punch pass, so I rode to Foothill and Casa, and got off and walked to the emergency room. I got there between 12:30 PM and 1:00 PM, and I got discharged at 2:15 PM. The doctor said the two big cups of coffee I had at 5:00 AM and the hot sun caused the heart palpitations. Before I was discharged, they gave me some atavan to help me relax. Monday, June 11, 2007 I woke up and ate some oatmeal, then around 12:20 PM I decided to walk to the bus stop and got to Cuesta, so I could find out about assessment testing for English. When I got there, I went to the library and talked to a woman who was in charge of the testing. I got signed up for the English assessment test on Wednesday, June 13th. It's at 7:45 in the morning, so I'll have to catch the earliest RTA bus. Next, I went and talked to a counselor, and found out about the classes I'll need to take to get an AA degree. I've already covered my math requirement, but I'll need to take 19 more classes to get an AA in English. I got off the bus on the way back at Cal Poly, and got on the computer. I had my manuscript with me, so I re-typed what remained of the chapter. I got there before 2:00 PM, and I was finished at 6:00 PM. I got home and put a couple of potatoes in the oven, then defrosted two chicken breasts and threw them in a half hour later. While I waited, I had some refried beans and cheese. After dinner, I took my meds and looked over the classes I will be taking. Tuesday, June 12, 2007 I woke up really early for some reason, and took my meds at 6:00 AM. I had breakfast and called Mike at Conrep between 8:30 and 9:00 AM, and he said he didn't need me until Wednesday at 2:00 PM, so I asked if I could pull my money out plus $15 for a bus pass, and he said yes, but wanted me to stop by Conrep with the receipt afterwards, which I did. I withdrew a total of $80. I went to the library and got on a computer. I copied and pasted chapter six of my new story to the stories section at Giantess Magic, then I copied and pasted it to my webpage at Angelfire. I spent about 45 minutes using HTML commands to put a space in between all the paragraphs, then I printed the whole story out and punched three holes in each page and put it in a binder. Then I checked for mistakes. Next, I went to Rite-Aid and bought toe-nail clippers, shampoo, deodorant, and razors. I went to Captain Nemo's and looked around, then I went to Tim's over by socialization. He gave me a ride to Costco, where I bought a 36-roll pack of toilet paper for $16. I also bought groceries. When I got home, I put my stuff away and watched TV for a while, then I took a shower. I had chili bean burritos for dinner, then I practiced typing on my computer. At 6:20 PM I took my meds, and realized I have a week of meds left. Wednesday, June 13, 2007 I woke up at 5:30 AM and took my meds. I caught the 6:48 AM RTA bus to Cuesta, and went to the library to take my English assessment test. If I get a high score, I will be eligible for English 1A. I think I did okay on the multiple choice section, but I think I did exceptionally well on the essay. The essay topic was a frustrating experience that we look back on as a learning experience. I wrote about Mike denying me Internet access, and how it forced me to spend more time editing. I found out that editing is the funnest aspect of fiction writing, and that it occupies more time than the composition phase. When I got back to town, I had to meet Mike at Conrep at 2:00 PM, so I had a couple of hours to kill. I got on the computers at the library, and I came up with the idea of focusing on writing flash fiction stories. Flash fiction is one thousand words or less. I met with Mike at 2:00 PM, then I went home and worked on a flash fiction story. Nailing the story took many hours, and I also had to transcribe the story into a notebook. The story was five pages long. Thursday, June 14, 2007 I woke up, took my meds, and took a shower. After eating some oatmeal, I went to Conrep for the Thursday morning meeting. A couple of the guys introduced themselves to Art, the new guy. After the meeting, I went to the library and got on a computer and re-typed the flash fiction story I had written in a notebook yesterday. I e-mailed it to Electric Velocipede magazine. I forgot to use two spaces after punctuation marks between sentences, but I'll remember next time. When I got home, there was a letter from social security for me in the mailbox that I ended up needing. I called Cuesta at 2:15 and found out I qualified for English 1A. I called Mike, and he said I could stop by the office to pick up a check to take with me to Cuesta, because the college is closed on Fridays and the class starts Monday. When I got to Cuesta, I found out that I couldn't sign up for a class because I owed $1.25 to the library for an overdue library book from last year. One of the ladies coughed up $1.25 out of her own money, and I was able to sign up for the class. Friday, June 15, 2007 I woke up, took my meds, and headed to socialization. At 11:00 AM, some of us went to the DMV. I stamped manila envelopes for about 45 minutes. This is called pre-voc, and if we do six of them we get a free lunch. After socialization, I went to the library and got on the Internet. I read the submission guidelines of several magazines, to see if they wanted flash fiction. When I got home, I remembered that I needed to call Aida's for my textbook for my English class at Cuesta. The lady at Aida's over the phone told me I needed a book called "Many Americas" and a copy of "Fahrenheit 451" by Ray Bradbury. Being forced to read Ray Bradbury for a class assignment is like being forced to eat ice cream. There's also a study packet I need to get at Cuesta. Mike came over and hooked up my printer, and it works now. Before he left, Mike gave me two blank checks so I could get my books. I went to Aida's and got the Many Americas book, Fahrenheit 451, and a note book. From about 5:00 PM until Midnight I worked on a draft of chapter seven of the giantess story I'm working on. I used my printer to print it out, and it was nine pages long. Saturday, June 16, 2007 I woke up and took my meds, then I had a cup of coffee and took my nine-page manuscript to the library, where I re-typed the story at Writing.com and edited it as I went along. In two hours, I reached the middle of page five of my manuscript before I ran out of time. I went home and ate bean burritos, then I watched TV until it came time for the barbecue. Howard cooked tri-tip, and Dale provided potato salad and chili beans. When I was done eating, I went to my room and started reading Fahrenheit 451. I read a little over half of the book. Sunday, June 17, 2007 For some reason, I woke up early, so I made breakfast of fried potatoes, egg, and refried bean burritos. I drank coffee, took my meds, and started reading more of Fahrenheit 451. I called my stepmother to wish my dad happy Father's Day, and I told her about getting my story published. She said she would send me money so I could buy several copies of the magazine. I got back to reading Fahrenheit 451, and finished before noon. In the afternoon I worked on a short story, then I took a shower and cooked breakfasr and put it in the fridge so I don't have to cook it in the morning. Monday, June 18, 2001 I woke up at 5:30 AM and took my meds, then I had two potato and egg burritos for breakfast, and had a cup of coffee. I caught the bus at 6:48 AM and made it to Cuesta on time. I bought the study guide that was required, and I also got some pencils, because I didn't have any. When I left the bookstore, I left my wallet and I.D. in the store, and the lady came running after me to tell me. When class started at 7:30 AM, the teacher had everyone introduce themselves, and I said I had gotten a story published in a magazine. I found out the teacher is the son of Doctor Walters, the doctor on Unit 18 when I was in A.S.H. I told the teacher that I had been in A.S.H., and that I knew his father. The teacher recommended a book called "A Writer's Reference" by Diana Hacker. It isn't required, but I'd like to get it because it will help me with grammar. In the syllabus he refers to a section from that book. I feel a little bit intimidated by this class for some reason. English should be easy for me, so there is no reason to feel this way, but sometimes I do. This feeling comes and goes. Tuesday, June 19, 2007 I woke up and took my meds, then I ate breakfast and went to class. A lot is covered in three hours, and I prefer the slower pace of a regular semester. When I got home I ate lunch and headed to Conrep for group. I told the group about passing the assessment test and scoring 100 on the essay. After group, Mike gave me a blank check for a grammar book I need at Cuesta. The book wasn't required, but it would be really helpful with my writing. I was pleasantly surprised that Mike allowed me to get it. I also had to deposit an SSI check into the bank. When I got home, I ate something, then I decided to go to Cuesta and buy the grammar book. I arrived at the bus stop just as the bus was departing, so I had to wait for an hour for the next one. When I got to Cuesta, I also got a set of scantrons I need for an assignment. I left out the part where I went to Costco. Tim from socialization gave me a ride, and I gave him five dollars. I owe him $115 now. I bought a case of 36 Pepsi's at Costco so I can take soda with me for lunch to school. Wednesday, June 20, 2007 I was really tired last night, and I got off to a slow start in the morning. I woke up at 5:40 AM, and I usually wake up at 5:30 when the radio alarm clock goes off. I took my meds and took a shower, then I made breakfast and packed my lunch. Class went by really slow, and afterwards I went to work on my essay in the computer lab. I got about halfway done, then I had to catch the bus because I needed to tell Mike at Conrep that I needed more meds. I had to meet Mike at 2:00 PM, and I told him about the medication. He said the meds were waiting for me at the pharmacy. He also asked if I had my timeline prepared. Last week Mike told me to have a timeline of when I got out of A.S.H. in 2004, until I got sent to American care. I said I didn't do it, and Mike told me to have it ready Friday at 11:00 AM. Mike also told me to go to the pharmacy and get my meds, then to call him when I got them. When I got home from ther pharmacy, I tried calling Mike, but nobody was in the office, so I left a message. I tried calling back later in the afternoon, but Mike was gone. I worked on my essay for several hours, and printed out three copies for school. Thursday, June 21, 2007 I took my three copies of my essay to school, and even though they weren't formatted right, it was okay. I had to read the essays of two other people, and give suggestions. I also read my essay out loud to the two people in my group, and listen to their criticism. At the end of class, the teacher took us to the library, where we worked on a specific assignment that's due Monday. This is the assignment I need a scantron for. I went online after class and looked up the submission guidelines for several different science fiction magazines. After I got home, I ate lunch, then I walked to the downtown library and resumed looking at submission guidelines, which I wrote down. I came home and worked on my timeline, and after I printed it out, I called Staples to find out how much a printing cartridge costs. It's thirty dollars. I did my laundry, and I transferred my answers from my workbook to a scantron. After doing my timeline, I was reminded of my bad study habits when I was taking algebra. I want that to change this semester, so I got the homework doen today, on Thursday, even though I could have done it on the weekend. Friday, June 22, 2007 I woke up and took my meds, then I had a cup of coffee and ate a bowl of oatmeal. I watched television until 9:20 AM, then I went to the library and worked ona story submission journal, to keep track of the stories I've sent to science fiction magazines. I showed up at Conrep at 11:00 AM, with the timeline I needed to give to Mike. Mike said he was impressed with my journaling compared to how I did it before. I went home and waited for Mike. He showed up at 2:00 PM and installed Microsoft Word on my computer. He also had my trunk with him, and I went through it and saw that my comic books were there, as well as books and paperwork. When Mike left, I worked on some of my stories, and printed out a 3,300 word story that I want to re-type on a computer with Internet accesss and send to a magazine. I watched TV until night time, then I started working on a new story that I plan on submitting to Baen's science fiction. It is an online magazine, and it won't start accepting submissions until August first. Saturday, June 23, 2007 I woke up and took my meds and had a cup of coffee, then I cooked breakfast and headed over to the library and got on the Internet. While I was there, I printed out an order form for ten dollars worth of gift points so I can save up for a year of upgraded membership. I came home and ate lunch, then after I rested, I decided to go to the Alano club to get a schedule for the NA meetings. I stopped by the library and got on the Internet for an hour first. I wrote down the submission guidelines for Baen's universe, an online science fiction magazine. When I got home, I watched Dave's Iron Man DVD. I also got on the computer and worked on a story I plan on submitting to Baen's on July 1st, when they open for submissions. It was while working on this manuscript that I had a revelation. I figured out how to spell "Shrink ray-gun." The hyphen goes in between ray and gun, rather than between shrink and ray.ound, but to me it is vital, because the difference between the two is the difference between a pro and an amateur. I went to the NA meeting at 7:00 PM, and spoke about how I saw an asshole at Cuesta drinking a beer, and that made me angry enough to attend a meeting. Sunday, June 24, 2007 I woke up and took my meds. I spent the morning watching a movie on TV, when Howard came over and gave me some pastrami he didn't want. I spent some time on my home computer working on a story, then I went to Cal Poly at 1:30 PM and spent a couple of hours transcribing a short story of about 3,000 words that I plan on submitting to a science fiction magazine. I finished about half of it. Larry informed me in the morning that Howard wants me to stop throwing aluminum cans in the blue bin, because he's collecting them in the black container in between the 204 house and the 208 house. When I got back from Cal Poly, I started working on a new story, and didn't put it down until 9:00 PM. I wrote close to 3,000 words, and time flies when I'm writing. The story is about a section of a city that is simultaneously miniaturized and teleported to a starship, and has a lot of violence in it. The flavor of the story is similar to a giantess story that would normally be posted on the Internet, but I'm going to try to send it to a magazine. Late at night, Chris blasts his TV. If I ask him to turn it down, he does, but then an hour later it's blasting again. It sounds like thunder blasting through my wall. This is something I have to endure every single night that Chris is home. Monday, June 25, 2007 I woke up at 5:45 AM, took my meds, got a cup of coffee, and took a shower. I packed my lunch and went to school. I turned in my homework, and after class, I finished a short story on the Internet. After formatting it, I saved it as an RTF document and e-mailed it as an attachment to a science fiction magazine called Electric Spec. After I e-mailed the story, I realized I had forgotten to include my e-mail address. Once I got home, I ate lunch and got to work on my homework. I had to write the second draft of an essay. It took a long time, but it wasn't difficult. I'm looking forward to the Fall semester, when there will be a lot less pressure on me. I want to take English 1B and Astronomy. When I was done with the essay, I started reading a book I checked out from the Cuesta library called "Zen and the art of writing" by Ray Bradbury. I saw the word "Toy Box" in the book, and it inspired me to write a short story of under 1000 words, that I printed out and put in a manila envelope with a cover letter, and addressed it to On Spec magazine. On Spec is a science fiction magazine. I'm going to mail it tomorrow when I get paid. Tuesday, June 26, 2007 I went to school without packing a lunch, and turned in my essay. I got on the bus right after class, and went home and ate bean and cheese burritos for my lunch. I formatted the short story I'm sending to On Spec magazine. I added double spaces after punctuation, but I had to print it out twice before I got it right. I put the manuscript with a cover letter into a manila envelope with me to Conrep. I went to group at Conrep, and afterwards, I got a check from Mike and made it out to Writing.com, and I pulled out $55 instead of $65 to cover the ten dollar check. When I got to the post office, the old man behind the counter said I couldn't mail a letter to Canada, because it would require Canadian postage. I explained IRC's, and he understood. When I left the post office, I went straight to Tim's, and he gave me a ride to Costco. I bought 800 sheets of printer paper there. I bought tuna, mayo, eggs and milk. I was sick of eating bean burritos, so I wanted to eat sandwiches. I also bought bread.
