The Enemy of the Word
A writer's worst enemy. Mostly written for fun.

To be
To be
Or not
To be
That is the question
I ponder so heavily
         I ponder so wearily….
I write this word
To my own great folly
It appears when I write
It softens the blow
It is my curse
My imagined foe
        It brings great woe.....
It plagues my words
It hinders the plight
Of stories I imagine
Of things I write
It tampers with thoughts
And phrases too
It makes my sentiments
Kind of blue
I was
I were
I will ever be
Adrift on a wave
With the verb
To be
