Happy 11th Birthday, WDC, My Story

Happy 11th Birthday WDC! I am writing this for a forum to New Horizons Academy as part of the WDC 11th Birthday Celebration.

I came to WDC May 21, 2002. I had a total hysterectomy and was off work for 6 weeks from my mental health job. I was taking a Free Lance Writing Class by snail mail and doing my tests on the internet. My girlfriend had been writing and I had an Associate Of Arts Degree in Journalism. I didn't get a Bachelor Of Arts Degree and when my friend asked me questions about writing and I didn't have any answers. I needed more education. I signed up for a Free Lance Writing Class to learn about writing. In one of my writing booklets, I found WDC which was Stories then. I logged on and thought wow, what an amazing site. People writing stories and poems and they show up in a Portfolio. I wrote poems and a story here and there over the years with no thought of anyone seeing them. At Stories {now WDC} I can write and people will read my work. I was still taking my class and had wrote a story about a governess and a wolf, Barbie Dolls and George Harrison. I became a member and it was nice to meet new friends and others were reading my writing. This was great! I got a 90 in my class and a nice diploma. I took a Short Writing Class from Readers Digest and I had a rough instructor but I did good in the course. I got a diploma in this class, too. I published two books: Passage To Romance and Princess Of Scruples which are available at Barnes and Nobles, PublishAmerica and Amazon. Getting back to WDC, I have been here 9 years and I love it here.

I had my own UpGrade Angels Group where we gave out UpGrades. I did this for 7 years with a few members of the group but I had to close it down due to a lack of interest. I was a member of Angels Army and I reviewed a lot and got Awards. I took Cissy's Native American Cherokee Writing Class from New Horizons Academy and I loved it. I completed the class. I learned a lot as I am part Cherokee. I briefly taught a Short Story Writing Class a few years ago here. I write a newsletter Flair For Writing with my best friend Angel Angel . The letters are in my Port. Angel makes me a lot of beautiful sigs. I am a member of I.N.K.E.D, Twilight Fans Group{I am a big fan of Twilight! Don't get me started!}, Circle Of Sisters Group, Simply Positive and am a Rising Star Sponsor.

I live in a small town in Indiana. We live 2 and a half hours from Chicago, Illinois. Life is like Green Acres, the TV Show. Ha! Ha! We are civilized but we have only one neighbor and live on the same road as a lot of farmers. My father-in-law was a farmer and so was my grandfather. I was a military brat but my mother and I stayed with my grandparents when Dad was in Viet Nam. I love to scrapbook and collect dolls but spend most of my time at WDC. I work midnights so my days are my own. I have a nice husband and an orny cat named Bella. {Where did I get that name? Ha! Ha!}

I love to write, do reviews and I love Jane Austen, vampires and everything about WDC. I love reading others forums to see what neat contests and activities they have come up with. I was part of The Lenten Adventure and this helped my spiritual relationship. I hope to take another writing class here at WDC. I like helping others with their writing. I like to play games in Scroll, receive e-mails and I love to review images. I enter writing contests here sometimes. I help groups when I can. Sometimes, I participate in some Camp Fires, read and review newbies as well as others and I love being here. I write to make a world a better place and forgot the real world and all the chaos.

Thank you, Story Master and Story Mistress. If it wasn't for WDC, I wouldn't take writing seriously and I would be trapped inside a dream world but at WDC, I share my world of imagination with others. Thanks for all the neat tools you come up with for writing, reviewing and activities. You have helped others display their writing talents here as well. You are animal lovers and that is a plus.
