FIRST DATE
He was her first love, tonight was her first dance. She could feel her heart beat, This was now her chance. An event so special, a dress with flare and lace. Hair done to perfection, warm glow across her face. At fourteen years of age, like she harnessed the sun. This boy who held her heart, and she the chosen one. And then the doorbell chimed. She felt her heart stand still. He came into the room, and the room he filled. He wore his Sea Scout suit, his white hat held so tight. Rose corsage in a box, everything so right. He led her to the door, her face was filled with light This was the beginning of one very special night. His dad would drive the car that took them to the dance. Her mom kissed her good-by, she left without a glance. Maybe her first date, But surely it would be A night she would remember, a lifelong memory.
