my favorite place
truth I hold within ~

my quiet place
remembering
but for a moment when

I go away
yet wander back
somehow
when as another thought renewed
by silence -
my surrender
a presence unaware
my spirit home

sodden floors
and cedar roof
scratched into perfection
the same that is my breath
a name I know

was written
to this lowly hearth
needs no renovation
I go as I am led
and love returns

as sunshine
to a smiling face
warming me to reason
I can’t explain

I'm here
but not alone

for this - enough
my joy to speak
though not with words
I carry

in stillness
I am lifted
by truth I hold within

this quiet place -
my favorite place
is filled with thoughts
of love
