Empty Tracks
A tribute to the lady locomotive that once was.

Her tracks still wind
across the hills
and the valley down below
but I don't see
any sign of life
nor hear her whistle blow.
-
I miss the sound
that she once made
as she let her engine roar
but now the lady
that I had loved
don't pass here any more.
-
Its sad to see
the things that were
removed from off the scene
to make the way
for modern days
more up to date machine.
-
The empty tracks
now left behind
are just one more reminder
that once you lose
your lady love
you may never find her.
-
And tracks alone
though they still wind
across the mountainside
won't fill the place
inside the heart
that she once occupied.
