10 Years After
There is a swale opposite my condo cracked brown and parched in dry season. But now in wet times it fills water sluicing away leaving soft, lush, grasses. Our church has a rain garden. A narrow depression to carry runoff, wasted water to make a verdant space. Like the pools of the Memorial large voids, open, visible reminders of absence. And just like that Eden encircles perdition.
