When I See You
For a girl I know, admire from afar, I guess.

When I look at you, there burns a brightness in my heart,
eyes light up, there's a sensation of some elusive spark.

It's difficult to clearly define,
why when I think of you, I wish you could be mine.

First moments meeting were sheer perfection,
conversation flowed, a sense of heightened perception.

From then, I knew you were the one for me,
deep eyes, a flowing goddess, the only one for me.

Yet somehow, I've kept my distance,
sidled away without insistence.

And now I struggle, holding feelings in,
hoping, yet fearing that you'll never let me in.

Perhaps soon, your eyes will pass my way,
we'll intertwine, and we'll never stray.

You're just a girl that's down to earth,
simple hopes, simple dreams, know what life is worth.

In time I pray we'll come together, live a life of joy together.
A simple life's what I seek with you, forever.
