“No, Sarah!” The salesgirl watched from a safe distance praying for the child’s obstinacy to win. “You really want that teddy!” Sarah nodded vigorously. “Let’s buy it, but don’t blame me when it bites you.” Sarah flung the toy away. The salesgirl watched helplessly as mother and daughter stomped out of the store.
