My mind wanders back in time To a place filled with childhood memories, Fluffy clouds and dreams all mine, A place with flowers, butterflies, and bees. Riding horses, climbing trees Play "How now, brown cow" til dark swallows day, Dreams of ships and sailing seas, Imagination my canvas for play. Sunday dinner at Gram's house, All heads bowed in reverence as grace is said, All eyes closed, quiet as a mouse, One word-Amen. Gramp and children all fled. Some filled plates with barbeque, Others wanted garden fresh vegetables, Fresh fruit and berries so blue, Food, overflowing tables. Gram had a special surprise, Each child had a turn to keep down a fight, Crank the handle as time flies, Ice Cream, homemade peach, a creamy delight, Hugs, kisses, love, and laughter, Fireflies, sweet goodbyes stored within my soul, Held precious everafter Memories to treasure as I grow old. 24 lines Traditional Poetry using Rhyming pattern: abab and Syllabic pattern 7-10-7-10
