                                                      A Better Day

Crystal clear September morning

Is greeted by a cool breeze.

It gently blows through my hair

Rustling the new fallen leaves.

Just another day in September

Many have already passed by.

This one will be more special

Though It need not try.

I have been waiting so long

For what is about to be

It is anticipation

Lighting a fire in me.

Will things be different now?

Are changes part of tomorrow?

Look forward to a better day

Will place a hold on sorrow.

My patience has been stronger

Than I thought it would have been.

We do what we have to do

When the choices are so slim.

Just so you know how I feel.

How much you mean to me.

Open arms welcome you back

Home, is where your heart should be.

Love your Grandmother
