Waiting for the Day
Waiting for the Day and what it might bring.

In the dark of night,
waiting for the dawning of the days early light,
watching eagerly for those first bright rays,
to bring forth light to the world,
how I miss the Day when Night falls,
her light extinguished for the eve,
as the Moon rides the skies.
Anticipation like that of a child
on Christmas Eve seeps into my bones,
as I seek that which is elusive.
The birth of light at this
the darkest time of night.
Like a child afraid of the dark
I seek the light.
Like a moth to the flame,
Knowing it will burn,
still I run to that brightness.
