                                        Ghazal 318


Persian:  Raseed doash nidaay az een bukand riwaaq
                Keh aey muqeem e zawayaay shehr band e firaaq
Urdu:      Nida yeh aaie sar e shaam az buland riwaaq
                Keh aey muqeem e zawayaay shehr band e firaaq

English:=== One night came a heavenly voice
                    Telling me there is for me a choice
                                                -

Persian:  Dar een hazeez chira gashtaie chuneen mehboos
                Guzar chu taaier e qudsi zay auj e een nuhtaaq
Urdu:        Nikal too khaak kay zindaan say taair e qudsi
                Keh hay muqaam tera ik bulandi e nuhtaaq

English:=== Either to sink in this worldly abyss
                    Or come and enjoy the heavenly bliss
                                              -

Persian:  Munaafiqand o riyaaie jamee e ahl e bashar
                Bia ba sohbat e yaaraan e bai riya o nifaaq
Urdu:      Jamee e ahl e bashar hay munaafiqoun say pur
                Too aa ba sohbat e yaaraan e bai riya o nifaaq

English:=== And leave the world of sin and vice
                  And live in a place that's clean and nice
                                              -

Persian:  Tura ba roaz e azal baa habeeb ahday bood
                Cheh aamadat keh faraamoash kerdaie meesaaq
Urdu:      Kiya jo roaz e azal tha habeeb say apnay
                Wo kuin kiya hay faramoash too nay ik meesaaq

English:=== Fulfill the promise that was made to God
                    And do not remain forever a clod

Persian:  Kasy keh maskan e asleesh aalam e alvieest
                Cheh meekunad ba Khuraasaan, cheh meerawad ba Iraaq
Urdu:      Ho jis ka aalam e alvi maen maskan e asli
                Muqaam us ka ho kuin Isfahaan o Yazd o Iraaq

English:=== So leave this dungeon, and take this advice
                    And become a bird of paradise

Persian:  Zay khaish bagzar o baaz aaie soo e ma KHUSRO
                Keh neest khushtar az een jaa dar hama aafaaq
Urdu:      Too laamakaan maen aa chhorh ker makaan KHUSRO
                Keh jaa na us say hay behtar koie bhee dar aafaaq

English:=== And listen to KHUSRO: he's a wise guy
