With much haste, the creature sped on its way to an unsure destination. Upon approaching the fork on the road, it saw two others like itself waiting. The three creatures stood silent at the fork on the road, visions fixed on each other with much apprehension. It was a cool moonlit night and it shimmered on their reflective matellic armor. The armor dark in color with touches of lighter grays outlined around the head and chest. The arms resembled wings and were held tightly to their slim bodies. Any noticable legs concealed by the the wings as the creatures stood suspended a couple of feet off the ground. These were the evil creatures of the night that could tear apart anything in their path with a mouth that was like an eagles beak only sharper and larger. These creatures moved at speeds that made them seem invisible to anyone watching. A sudden noise deep in the woods made their eyes flash. Swiftly, the two creatures waiting at the fork on the road turned and sped off into the woods. Their Godlike ability to distinguish and pinpoint the exact location quickly brought them to the source of the sound. They saw that it was one of their own trying to escape. The two charged it and brought it to the ground. The force of the blow dragging them a few feet deeper into the woods. The creature fought mightily to free itself from the onslaught, but there was no escaping. The two creatures began to shred its armor in a blazing frenzy. and the shrieking sound of the dying creature can be heard for miles. The creatures ripped at the protective armor as if it were a treat, and doubled their efforts when penetrating the flesh. The creatures cry was relentless and not lost on the other creature waiting at the fork on the road. It listened intently as it contemplated its next move. Surely any suspicious move on its part would assure it the same fate. What was the creature to do if it could not escape that dreadful place. Its cold body now frozen in fear at the fork on the road as the woods grew silent once again. The two creatures had devoured their prey. For none were equal nor deserving of their mercy, not even their own kind. Their attention now turned to the unfinished business waiting at the fork on the road. Just as quickly as they had pounced on their prey, they turned and spedd off to the fork on the road. Upon arrival the two creatures found the fork on the road vacant and silent. They stood proudly at the spot daring anyone to test their power as the true guardians of... Hades.
