sometimes (this way)
I don't need to know why ~

was never meant
this way to be
that life would find me praying
for other times
and places (who can see)
the way we came
now grown apart
the path we cleared between
promises entangled
and who was I to blame
when night awoke
and you became the keeper

immortal flame
burning hot
beyond the noonday sun

was never love forsaken
what we knew
we carry still
there are no words
can take this truth away
will not I find you
(sleeping)
just the same

when I am come again
lacing ribbons through the trees
and clearing every web
of circumstance

change is come
and I’ve already written all I know
there are rivers still
await our will
to flow
