Before I knew the best was come - you were watching quiet and still. Winter wrapped a Sunday coat - laces spun with daffodil. Where I was - I can’t recall when at last I looked your way - saw the sunrise in your smile. Eternity - and I afraid of what would be when you were gone - would life erase the need for you. How far away you’d feel my heart - beyond this breath another blue. Dreams to haunt ten thousand moons - past the point of letting go. Familiar warmth of mortal glove - love returns to fit just so. Was I waiting - I can’t say. A moment sweet as shadows fell. Eternity was in your eyes - forever captured by your spell.
