Earth’s Rhythm Disrupted

I awaken to the rhythm of the earth
as it makes its continuous revolutions.
Although it seems soundless,
I hear it as clear as a crystal challis.

It is as though there is an internal
engine with multiple gears meshing
operating in monotonous motion,
turning the earth in endless rotations.

All through the night, my mind
is centered in the earth’s cadence.
I arise with my pulse thumping
in a corresponding procession.

Out in the green growing garden,
I hear the tender plants pushing
their way through the earth’s surface
reaching for the sunlight of their future…

as if there will be one…

I hear and feel the coming destruction
caused by people of socialist thinking.
They have an irreverent disjointed rhythm of deceit and death
for our nation and the very soul of the earth.

Ideas and beliefs are not reserved for the mind alone;
they contribute to the health or destruction
of the marrow of bone and life in the earth.
Birds, plants, mammals, and soil are affected.

There is a malevolent wind blowing, I can hear it
like a mighty machine with its gears meshing, churning, pushing
threatening the sound of the rhythm of earth – God’s creation.
It is coming to destroy our freedom, the right to be and live and breathe,
and be a part of the natural rhythm of life.
