Toby’s life in the early years is very much the same as now. Children emulate who they perceive as their “hero’s”, both on television and in song. Back then, as now, it was common for them to play off of themes by the likes of Roy Rogers and Gene Autry. I used to pretend when I was a boy in the 80’s of watching shows like The A Team and MacGyver, Miami Vice and Magnum PI, that I was there next to them fighting to help save the world from the most evil of evils. I wanted that life of the ultimate hero. I could feel the unbridled arrogance that came with knowing I did something powerful and lifesaving. I had plastic model guns as a boy that I would use to save the world one bad guy at a time and all from the comfort of my apartment, bouncing wildly around like I was helping my “hero’s” win the day.
