Every time that I begin to type, my children need something. Most of the time it is something that they can do for themselves. I agree with this idea. I think that it helps children and family to know that you are not just surfing the internet. They can see that I am seriously working, and know if it is not an emergency they will be ignored until I am finished with my writing session. I am thinking about things that I can use.

1.  My pink princess cap that my sons gave me. The shinny word princess matches the theme of my book, and remind me about Anne and how I want her to be.. My favorite color is pink. It is a very happy color that is relaxing. The boys will respect my time and feel part of my writing adventure.

2.  Having the lamp above the computer on. I usually don't have the light on if I am just checking email and such. I need it to read my resources and text book. When I have the lamp on, I also have my notebook out. It is really a indication that I am busy with my work.

3. Head phones can be used as an item that shows that I am working. The music they carry can be inspirational not to mention stopping distractions. I love the seventies and eighty music. I really love the soundscapes. When I am listening to this music I live the characters that I am writing about.
