Silent Prayer

Where do I go when I stroll through the dell?
I’m thinking of Jesus when he went down to hell.

What do I think when I glance at a tree?
the power of God who has made us all free.

What does the Oak teach with its power and might?
that God cried in pain on Jesus’ last night.

Look at the flowers adorning the wild,
They remind me of Jesus when he was a child.

Why does the wind blow the scattering leaves?
to teach us a song as we pray on our knees.

What of the sun as it shines high above?
It shows us creation and God’s awesome love.

What of the water that flows through the brook?
remember the oath at baptism we took?

What is that smell that spreads through the land?
It’s the purity of love as God holds out his hand.

Why do I pray with silence and cheer?
Because I can feel that my savior is near.
