Make It A Strong One
Letting Go

Pour me a drink
in a cup half full
and mix it with the dreams we shared
over laughter and cigarettes

Now holds these empty hands
and stare into these sober eyes
that once were intoxicated with promises of better days
but the buzz has worn off

So pour me a drink
and make it a strong one
take to that place
where we drop off our by-gones

And please don't smile and whisper okays
and please don't slip up and speak of somedays
and you know these lovers never end up best friends

So pour me a drink
and kiss these dry lips
and as much as you wish
a heart never slips
walk away slowly
as I take these last sips

...but before you leave

Pour me a drink
and know I was the wrong
and if a heart must confess
I was the weak one
so if it's our last drink
then make it a strong one.
