Egotistical, thrifty, and selfish,
And thoroughly engrossed in their happy, Yet precarious lives - The truest sign of their most sincere And lasting friendship: My appreciation of their supremely noteworthy gifts, While I become the satisfied captain Of my own god-fearing and righteous ship. Although quietly booming, The soaring flight of the eagle Shows little remorse for my tender and fragile psyche, As I continue to smartly and efficiently Live a unique and stable life, Purposely aware of my handicaps. But my mature, adult mission Is to keep giving of my saintly self, This towering, majestic flight of a different kind, Which continues to gain in thrift and momentum Through my most satisfying years!
