HAUNTED
I am haunted by memories of days gone by, things I have said and things left undone, Flickering images of times when unkind words escaped my lips, and caused you pain. Too late to change, to take back words spoken, not meaning to turn away from the reality of life. Easy to judge, when judging is the last thing that anyone needs in this time of strife - Can you forgive me - for I cannot forgive myself, knowing that tears alone will not erase the past. Today may be the last time that I can tell you that I am sorry, so very sorry - the sorrow cast. You have given me so much, in your own way, that I didn't recognize as a gift only you could give. Looking back, I see the pain of my rejection on your face, the hurt with which I'd have to live. I am haunted by memories of days gone by, things I have said and things left undone, Flickering images of times when unkind words escaped my lips, and caused you pain. Countrymom 10/25/11
