As Seasons Change …

Early morning frost
Every stalk is filigreed
Fairy dust embossed
Pixie jewels on ev’ry weed

Falling autumn leaves
Swirling clouds of red and gold
Every beast perceives
Daily warmth, but nightly cold

Southward winging geese
Seeking out a warmer clime
Wooly coats increase
Readiness for winter’s time

Frosty morning breath
Gelid fog upon the air
Sleep akin to death
Hibernation to prepare

Fortified, secure
Winter’s chill befalls the earth
Nature will insure
Spring’s return for full rebirth

Until then, we rest
Sleeping deep and dreaming dreams
Wait for Mother’s Nature’s schemes.
