Forever She cried the tears of innocence, As her mother walked away. She held her little brother’s hand And they both began to pray. Confused, scared and bewildered Each of them feeling alone. Not knowing where they would go Or if she would ever come home. Merely a child herself Her years were not yet ten. There was no way to know If she’d see her mom again. It was her first goodbye Had never been said before. A moment in time remembered A scar was her's forever more. They forged through life together Two siblings with one heart. Weaving a fabric of love Never to be torn apart. The way they were affected Only these two would know. Thanking God they had each other Helpful allowing them to grow. In time mother did return But life was never the same. Not knowing when or if She would ever leave again.
