sixteen times
returned again -

here I am
returned again
into your night I've come
as dark the shadows
move to comfort Mars
surely you can hear
my voice
soft within this quiet
would you not
I'm certain
that you know

my every thought
each mortal fear
places I've forgotten
love I held
(a moment)
dare you see
past these shades
of normalcy
found the words
(unspoken)
something there is written
brings me back
to thee

imperfect as the
world is so
a fallacy of beauty
for in the fault
most surely rests the fight
ashes
where the diamond sleeps
all I am and ever
hope to be -
unhidden as the heavens
by your night

dreams have come
again as truth
and every one remembered
where I was
for there you were (the same)
e'er I stumbled
fifteen times
and sixteen you would carry
whispering assurance
love that knows
my name
