I was recently asked why I do not support the OWS (Occupy Wall Street), as I am anti-big government. Generally, this individual, who is a registered Republican only so they can vote for Ron Paul, believes that this is an unorganized spontaneous protest, adopted by the other groups, SEIU, American Communist Party, Socialists, and the Unions. This is far from the truth. It is well planned, well financed and many of those well-meaning participants are misinformed.

You do NOT align yourself with any group that is counter to your personal ideals and principles. I am pro-free-market and believe in personal responsibility. I disagree with any concept of any forced 'share the wealth'. Those that have worked hard and been successful in their attempts should not be punished by society. Those that have not been as successful need to get back up and try again.

If you have been lazy enough to over-extend yourself either in mortgage or school loans, you need to find a way to pay the money back. Nothing is free in this life. Many of us have been able, in the past, to crawl out from underneath the umbrella of debt, and this generation should do so as well.

Do not equate this Occupy Wall Street protest with the spontaneous TEA Party movement. We in the TEA party, organizers and participants alike, have not been paid or compensated with travel or food. The TEA party demonstrations were orderly and neat. We paid for our transportation, lodging, and food. There was one clear message, "Taxed Enough Already." This current onslaught and destruction of public parks does not have any single message. They have cost many municipalities hundreds of thousands of dollars in additional law enforcement wages and property repair.

All participants, or those supporting this group of disgruntled under-achievers, need to ask why personal selfishness outweighs the desire of the masses. All you will get, in the end, if you win, is a further separation between those with the majority of money, hence power, and serfdom will become your fate. Democracy will go by the wayside and you will give up all your freedoms for the government handouts. It will be the beginning of a new age of slavery. History does repeat itself.

Think really hard. If you are not a communist or socialist, then why are you standing hand-in-hand with them? Do you really think that they want the same outcome? No, you likely think you are smarter than they are and your cause will win. Only the foolish are egotistically inclined to walk with the Devil and think they will come out the winner.

Have a good day and God’s blessings,
Glenda
