One Day at a Time
Is all it takes to accomplish a goal
Rated:

Avg Rating: (2)
Traveling across unmapped terrain,
I move toward a distant snow capped crest,
Step by step I advance upon my goal,
Only at sunset dare I pause to rest.

A whispered prayer and then I struggle on,
Facing each difficulty with a joyous soul,
Only at sunset dare I pause to rest,
Step by step I advance upon my goal.

Each day I refocus on the mountaintop,
One day at a time is my spirit’s quest,
Step by step I advance upon my goal,
Only at sunset dare I pause to rest.

Line count: 12
Form: Mirrored Refrain - composed of three or more quatrains wit the last two lines in the quatrain are the "mirrored" or alternating refrain. The rhyme scheme is xaBA, xbAB, xaBA, xbAB, etc.. with x representing the lines that do not rhyme.
