Reflections Revealed

O’ proud mirror, reflecting thy endless depths
for gazing eyes, absorbed.
Admiring your stillness;
sharply focused, exact, so pleasing,
this inspiring still shot of nature.

Thine wonders gifted from above,
portraying the pure backdrop.
Tantalizing the eye even more,
it does not escape such grateful honoring.

The viewer knows not which scene is more perfect;
the reality or the reflection.
Conflicted?
Perhaps so, each feeds the beauty of the other
in such a delightful way.
It matters not.

Then why accept the vision of the reality?
Or conversely, the reflection?
Because to rest the eyes on one’s natural wonder,
gives the pleasure
of seeing the harmony
of both.

Symbiotic sensation, satisfies the senses;
celebrating the eye feast set forth,
a banquet of clarity
that pacifies the soul
in the presence of wooded growth.

They stand, those pencil-like sentries of evergreen,
saluting the handiwork of the Creator.

Alongside them, a sprinkle of deciduous hardwoods adorned by  colorful crowns, radiate their sun-lit majesty.

There is an urgent flee of birds.
taking delight in their flight
to other places
different spaces
of comfort.

They shall return.
When once more,
the currents' striped ripples,
percolate an image
intensely warped
in its own reflective urgency,
as life begins again.
