The Green Witch has escaped . . . the future is uncertain! **Image Unavailable** The Battle Royale finds its completion, warriors, but not without much loss and destruction. Many have returned from the field grateful for their lives, but even more have fallen in pursuit of the Green Witch. It seems that we underestimated the amazing reserves of power that the temptress was yet to unleash, and not all news is favourable. The battlefield is little more than a pit of bloody limbs, strewn in a pungent pathway of death. Much damage was inflicted upon this wicked nemesis; however, our regiments of unprecedented evil, those that we thought strong and unbreakable, weren't enough to deter her advances. This news may seem dire, but take heart knowing that we sent the Green Witch into hiding – wounded, disfigured and unable to return without fear of demise. She will reform her coven and regain strength, but with our armies in place, a repeat attack is unlikely. 'Tis not all news of dread and darkness that we bring, warriors! As the Green Witch defended her territory, littering the land with undead carcasses, her incantations couldn't deter the fiercest of our warriors from heading a rescue mission in the forest of the Fae. 'Twas here, in the darkest recesses, that our faithful friend, Lenny, was recovered. Little hope was held for his survival, but a shadow of the Leprechaun we've grown to love is returning. The Green Witch's torturous treatment took him to the cusp of death, but now that he's home in his forest grove with Leila, the light is returning to his eyes. With care and attention, we have no doubt that Lenny will make a full recovery. Warlord PatrickB carries scrolls back from the battlefield with details of the war, the heroes that took charge in the midst of battle, and those that ploughed the scourge, despite fear for their own lives. Having finished a pot of stew, half a pig, a few loaves of bread, a block of cheese, a jug of ale and a couple of draws from his favourite tobacco pipe, he is refreshed and ready to unveil the secrets of war, bringing word of what we can only name a victory! **Image Unavailable** Game Recap There were many predictable variables during the calculations, but also many surprises. For instance, I was shocked to discover how close ranks #1 and #2 ended up. I had anticipated Leila's victory well in advance after her maneuvers in cleaning out "The Walking Deadquarters"  , but I had underestimated Shelley's force of Wraiths and how stacking "Terrifying Darkness" eleven times would make such a gargantuan impact on the range of damage for those creatures. Shelley's Wraiths attacked with a damage range of 110 - 440, and the sheer number of them added up quickly. Leila was just able to hold Shelley's army off with her heroes, which alone nearly made up the margin of victory. Sixgun made a nice showing, taking advantage of Kurt Barlow's Coffin and his ever-increasing Vampire total. His Vampires did the most damage of any other army's Vampires with 5,059 points of damage.Another major surprise -- shock, really -- was that the Green Witch survived . . . and it wasn't even close. The grand total of 299,039 points of damage was the equivalent of doing 60% damage to her. Alas, it was not enough. The total of 500,000 could have been reached not necessarily by more arsenals, but by an increase of size in the arsenals we had. This is not a criticism nor is it a chastisement. Mandy and I are more than happy with your spirit and participation. But to vanquish the Green Witch, we needed teamwork, and we didn't quite get as much as we needed. We all know that in the future, every little bit counts. When we set the number at 500,000 we had very little inkling about the level of participation nor in how the event would play out -- both as pertains to investment but also the numbers. It does make me sad that I will not be able to bestow the "Teamwork" merit badge that was the reward for vanquishing the Green Witch. I really wanted to reward all members who took a chance and tried a new kind of game. Damage Rankings Special Note: Calculating results of this magnitude will always be subject to human error. Add that to the incredibly small difference between the first and second place winners, and it is encumbent on us to allow an auditing period of two days whereby those participants who care can review the figures for themselves. Therefore, these results will be certified only at 12:01 am, November 16th. If for any reason you want yours, all you have to do is request it by email and I will transfer it to your portfolio. Otherwise, they will be gone forever come December.
