Goodbyes: a Poem


Saying goodbye to yesterday
is a lot harder than I thought it would be
Easing my way out
of the constant memories

Reminding myself that things aren't
what they were
Seeing you with her and asking
"Are you sure?"

People change
it's just the way things are
But it's still hard when people so close
suddenly grow so far apart

Another season
has come and past
I built some more memories
I know they won't last

A friendship
so strong, so vital and true
Now gone and forgotten
with a bloody red hue

Why is it so hard
saying goodbye to yesterday?
All I'm left with is memories
and I'm wishing them away...
