Fog
With silent footsteps, she creeps into the night, Changing the air with a fine chilling mist. She Touches every light post and every doorway, Embracing the streets and trees along the way. With her entrance comes the unknown, Resulting in an inability to see what was once familiar. Touching everything in her path with wet fingers She leaves a sense of mystery all around. Much like life, fog comes on when least expected. Too often, bringing an unexpected result. With it, an inability to know what's coming. To often, spinning a world of wonder. There is no escaping her uninvited intrusion. There is no way to enforce her immediate exit. What is required, is patience and endurance, Allowing her the opportunity of a quiet departure. With her escape, there will be change once again. Maybe warmth of sunlight and clarity will prevail The ability to see what lies ahead returns. Once again the comfort of the familiar.
