Dim lights behind the tall palms
the sky is saffron-yellow a sign for poor women in our village, Christmas bells ringing time their new day of laboring grinding corn into flower, the white dust floating away for the angels smiling in heaven, new hymn books for our memories praising peace on earth God’s mercy his son Jesus born lonely in our manger. The wise men seeing following the stars twinkling brightly a new way to this village, presents we have none but only our flower into dough for a tiny bread for communion, with new wine the color red like his blood forgiving us our sins on that cruel cross. Christmas dawning anew in heaven with the fruitless years behind us, the sky is saffron – yellow a sign shining for sinners saved today freed from a yoke of the devil, lost in hope hiding away in hell the burnt bubbling sea for an alien.
