"STAR SAGA"
BY MICHAEL HARRIS FADE IN: At the dawn of the 21st Century, scientist mapped the humane genome. With the human genome mapped, scientists then began to manipulate the genes of all those who could contribute to science and technology, and increase their gifts an untold fold, a trend that continued from generation to generation. By doing so, humanity experienced a time like no other. Shortly before 2015, space colonization began. By the year 2120, Earth's influence could be felt throughout the cosmos. And so, we come to this point in history... EXT. UNISEE - MIDDAY - SUPER - THE MAJESTIC WORLD OF UNISEE We see the beautiful and majestic structures of Unisee, bathed in colorful light shades of blue and pink and constructed at sickness inducing heights. Its people go about their merry way, clothed in bright blues and whites and such, when all of a sudden a huge warship begins descending from the sky, parting the clouds in the process. The humming noise made by the ship and the shadow it casts causes the peoples' attention to move upward. They look on curiously, but unafraid. Suddenly, radiant pulses of light fall from the ship. Once majestic buildings fall from their places and crash into the ground. People scramble to and fro. The warship let's loose another slew of pulsing beams and the same results occur. INT. INTIMIDATOR WARSHIP, BRIDGE - CONTINUOS We are now inside of the bridge of the Intimidator warship, where we find two people starring through the observation screen. They are FEDOS and FEDORA, husband and wife, and the commanding couple of a race known as the BULGATA. Another stands behind them. He is called RAPHSIDY. Fedos and Fedora observe the chaos upsettingly. They speak in an alien tongue and don't look much different from humans themselves, with the exception of slight facial alterations. The words they speak appear onscreen. FEDOS No, no! Don't run! Fight back! FEDORA Why aren't they defending themselves? RAPHSIDY I told you, this is a peaceful civilization. FEDOS Quiet Raphsidy! You say a lot of things. FEDORA Dispatch the MYRMIDIONS. RAPHSIDY Yes, Lady Fedora. EXT. UNISEE, THE SKY - CONTINUOS A blanket of smaller ships depart from the Intimidator itself. Once landed, soldiers known only as Myrmidions exit and whip the people into a frenzy as they surround them. On their arms, the Myrmidions have long elephant-like tusk weapons attached that can be removed at will, similar to how one would put on a glove, but these weapons encompasses their arms. These weapons are called TUSKANS. INT. UNISEEIAN PALACE, MAIN HALL - CONTINUOUS We now are inside of Unisee's Palace. LORD DALAYSIS, and his daughter, MONAFIA DALAYSIS, travel with an entourage of escorts through the main hall. The palace shakes and quivers from the attack as small dust particles fall from the sky. INT. UNISEEIAN PALACE, SHIP PORT - CONTINUOS Monafia and the escorts rush toward a small escape pod while Lord Dalaysis hesitates. They speak in English. ESCORT #1 Come sire, we must get you out of here. MONAFIA Father, why do you hesitate? LORD DALAYSIS ... MONAFIA Father? LORD DALAYSIS ...You must go alone, Monafia. Monafia gasps. ESCORT # 2 But sire, they will surely... LORD DALAYSIS No need to try to talk me out of it. It's something that I've already decided upon. Lord Dalaysis walks toward his daughter, whose tears stream down her cheeks. MONAFIA But father...why? LORD DALAYSIS The people, my daughter, they depend upon me. Now...come. Lord Dalaysis escorts his daughter toward the escape pod. The hatch of the ship opens, and Monafia sits. LORD DALAYSIS I will keep in contact with you throughout all of this. Monafia remains silent. The hatch closes. She places her hand against it, Lord Dalaysis does the same. He watches as the escape pod leaves the port and flies into the unknown. INT. INTIMIDATOR WARSHIP, BRIDGE - CONTINUOS Fedos and Fedora watch as Monafia flys past them. Fedora makes reference to the ship port. FEDORA That must be the ship port. RAPHSIDY I can't get the Intimidator through there. FEDOS Prepare us an escape pod. RAPHSIDY You will need INTERPRETERS and AMPLIFIERS if you are to understand their language. I have done the necessary work aforehand and programmed the Interpreters with the tongues of this people. Raphsidy heads toward them and places earpieces in the both of their hands. The commanding couple puts them in their ears. RAPHSIDY (continuing) The amplifier is inside of the earpiece. It should alter your voice when spoken so that they can understand you. INT. UNISEEIAN PALACE, SHIP PORT - CONTINUOS Lord Dalaysis stands in contemplation. ESCORT # 1 Sire? LORD DALAYSIS Yes, let's go. Lord Dalaysis and the others head for the exit when their attention is drawn towards the exterior of the ship port. An escape pod, much bigger than their own, flies into the port. It lands. Hatches from both sides of the ship open. A small detachment of Myrmidions exit with Tuskans in tow. They surround Lord Dalaysis and his administrators. Lord Dalaysis glances about to and fro and suddenly closes his eyes. EXT. HIGH ORBIT OVER UNISEE, ESCAPE POD Monafia flys alone when suddenly she is stricken by something. She closes her eyes and she can now see everything that happens in the ship port. She places her hands over her heart. MONAFIA Father. INT. UNISEEIAN PALACE, SHIP PORT - MIDDAY Fedos and Fedora make their grand entrance, one exiting from each of the respective openings. We can now understand what they are saying without words being present onscreen. They speak as if having English accents. ESCORT # 3 How dare you attack the Uniseeian people?! FEDOS Oh do shut up! The two walk towards Lord Dalaysis. Fedos instructs the Myrmidions to withdraw. They do so, hurriedly. FEDOS I take it you are the leader of these people? LORD DALAYSIS I hold that honor. And you? Fedos walks around the interior of the ship port, taking note of its splendid design. FEDOS You may call me Lord Fedos. FEDORA And I, Lady Fedora. And just who might you be? LORD DALAYSIS I, am Lord Dalaysis. FEDOS Ah, but the Uniseeian people need but one lord. LORD DALAYSIS Aye, and they have it, in me. FEDOS Hmph. LORD DALAYSIS Why have you attacked me and my people? FEDORA Manual labor. We thrive off of the combined capabilites of countless worlds. FEDOS And...for sport. Fedora smiles wickedly toward her husband. ESCORT # 3 But...we are of no use to you. We have no need for that which you call weaponry. FEDOS On the contrary, I think you Uniseeians will make a fitting addition to the empire. Don't you, Fedora? FEDORA Indeed. I just love their sense of artistic style. FEDOS There, it's settled. EXT. DEEP SPACE, ESCAPE POD Tears flow from Monafia's eyes upon hearing the news. INT. UNISEEIAN PALACE, SHIP PORT - MIDDAY Another escape pod flys into the port. It lands and Raphsidy exits. FEDOS Report. RAPHSIDY We have begun enmassing them near the square. Fedos shakes his head. FEDOS What a pity, it was over before it even started. FEDORA I wasn't even moved this time. FEDOS Indeed. This, is pathetic! Fedos walks around in discontent. FEDOS (continuing) We subjugate all worlds within Bulgata's vicinity, journey to distant galaxies in search of new targets and this is what we are faced with? Is there no world out there worthy of our challenge?! FEDORA No one can see the Bulgata! RAPHSIDY Actually... The two turn toward him. FEDOS What? RAPHSIDY There is one. They're quite advanced. Not advanced as us of course, but they'll at least put up a fight. Lord Dalaysis takes notice of Raphsidy's words. FEDORA Go on. Raphsidy turns away from them. RAPHSIDY (continuing) Their main world is called Earth. I noticed it while scanning for potential prey. They've amassed a respectable number of colonies, so they should be able to satiate your desires for a time. FEDORA For a time you say? O, It has been so long since we've been even remotely challenged. FEDOS Yes, I've been meaning to put PROJECT DOOMSDAY to use for some time now, but using it on unworthy opponents would be a waste. FEDORA Doomsday? Ha, they don't stand a chance. Lord Dalaysis attempts to communicate with his daughter. EXT. DEEP SPACE, ESCAPE POD Lord Dalaysis speaks to his daughter. LORD DALAYSIS Did you hear that, my daughter? You must warn the people of Earth. Monafia speaks in her mind. MONAFIA I shall try to contact one of them. INT. UNISEEIAN PALACE, SHIP PORT - MIDDAY FEDOS Prepare for the onslaught, Raphsidy. We shall remain here and get ourselves aquainted with the people of this miserable planet. Raphsidy bows and heads toward the escape pod. Fedora speaks to Lord Dalaysis. FEDORA Shall you lead the way? Accompanied by his escorts, Lord Dalaysis leads them out of the ship port, all while being followed by Fedos, Fedora, and the Myrmidions. EXT. SPACE, HIGH ORBIT OVER EARTH - SUPER - EARTH EMPIRE A colossal space station sends out scouting ships that begin to scour the perimiter of Earth from all sides, while others head back to the space station. We follow those that head back. As we get closer to the space station the words OMEGA SQUADRON can be seen imprinted on the exterior of the structure itself. The scouting ships land inside of the ship port. We watch as one ship's hatch flys open and its male occupant withdraws. He is LANGDON HUGHES. A strapping young lad, white, with brown hair, who looks to be in his early 20's. Another exits a scouting ship, this time a woman. She is IRIS GRISHAM. And despite her military occupation, she is very much feminine and very attractive. She also appears to be in her early 20's. Langdon approaches her. LANGDON I didn't know you could fly like that. You surprised me. IRIS Yes, I've gotten better, thanks to you. LANGDON Hey, that's what I'm here for. Iris smiles. A UNIFORMED OFFICER enters the ship port. UNIFORMED OFFICER Hughes, Grisham. The two look toward him. UNIFORMED OFFICER COMMANDER WECKER will see you now. IRIS Well that was fast. LANGDON Yeah, I just hope its good news. The two head for the exit. INT. WECKER'S QUARTERS The door to Wecker's quarters slides open and Langdon and Iris enter. A monitor is mounted in one of the rooms corners. Wecker stands near it while watching a news program. LANGDON Commander Wecker? He turns toward them. WECKER Oh yes, Langdon, Iris, come in, sit down. Wecker heads to his desk while Langdon and Iris sit opposite him. Wecker looks over some papers. WECKER Now, about your shared request to revisit Earth. HIGH COMMAND feels that with the way things are going, the colonies could attack at any time. And they don't want to take any chances by allowing some of our finest fighters to be out of action. Iris looks saddened. LANGDON We understand, commander. IRIS Yes, you did your best. Perhaps another time then. WECKER Now, hold on a second. What they have done is granted me the permission to allow one of you to go. Whichever one it is, that's up to you. Iris looks at Langdon. LANGDON Well, then it's simple, Iris goes. IRIS But, Langdon I could... LANGDON No, no. You have family down there. I wouldn't feel right if I took your place. IRIS You...really mean it? Langdon nods. IRIS Oh thank you, thank you! Thank you so much! She hugs Langdon. WECKER You'd better get packing, young lady. The dropship arrives in three hours. IRIS OK. Thank you again, Langdon. LANGDON What's there to thank? Iris smiles and leaves. Langdon stands. WECKER That was mighty nice of you. LANGDON Yeah. Langdon stands. LANGDON (continuing) Well, I'm gonna go ahead and go to class now. COMMANDER WECKER Have fun. Langdon heads toward the sliding door and stops. He turns toward Wecker. LANGDON (continuing) Commander Wecker, do you...really think we'll go to war over this? Wecker sighs. WECKER I don't know. I had my doubts but... it's all over the news. Everywhere you turn. Wecker picks up a remote and flips through the channel a few times. He then turns up the volume. The two watch as a FEMALE REPORTER reports. FEMALE REPORTER And in interstellar news, there still hasn't been any settlement regarding the tariffs on imports and exports between the Earth Empire and its colonies. Later on today, CZAR SHEPARD will be arriving at the colony of MARUNE where a meeting is scheduled. However, analysts predict that a deal won't be reached and that war...is inevitable. As always, we'll keep you posted. Wecker turns the television off. WECKER Doesn't look good. Listen, don't worry about it, if it happens it happens. It's not like you can do anything to stop it. LANGDON Yeah, you're right. Langdon looks at his watch. The time reads 11:58. LANGDON (continuing) I should get going. INT. TRAINING FACILITY Both male and female cadets train vigorously in the training facility. Some spar with one another in a boxing ring, while others lift weights and practice on punching bags. A large blue mat encompasses an area on the opposite side of the activity. Langdon enters with a duffle bag thrown around his shoulder. At the forefront of the facility, a man wearing a white martial arts outfit blows a whistle. Everyone stops. INSTRUCTOR All right, everyone get dressed for training. INT. TRAINING FACILITY The cadets, now bathed in similar white outfits and lined in rows, follow the instructors lead as they go through the warmups. Langdon is positioned at the forefront of the group. After awhile, the Instructor stops and so do they. INSTRUCTOR Let's get some action going here. The Instructor looks around the group and points to a MALE CADET who chews gum. Situated in the middle of the group, he is white with black hair and also looks to be in his early 20's. INSTRUCTOR You. The teacher looks around again and this time points to Langdon. INSTRUCTOR (continuing) And...Langdon. Langdon and the Cadet head toward a rack which houses protective suits, similar to ones you'd use if you were fencing. They begin putting them on. The Instructor walks toward a rack which holds silver, jagged weapons reminiscent of swords. He picks up two. He then heads back to the group. INSTRUCTOR The KILLIMARI: One of the standard weapons of Omega Squadron and OMEGA ELITE: a highly advanced faction of the Omega Squadron. The Instructor hands the weapons to Langdon and the Cadet, who are now all suited up. INSTRUCTOR (continuing) These two guys are familiar with it. For all you new cadets, you'll be issued one. As for now, you'll be restricted to lasers. Langdon, and the Cadet head toward the middle of the mat. The Instructor instructs the other cadets to fall back. They do so. INSTRUCTOR (continuing) To conclude today's session, I wanted to give you an idea of martial exploits via a sparring demonstration. Cadets? The two enter their stances. The Instructor blows his whistle. Immediately, Langdon charges the cadet and the two become locked in combat. Both are highly talented, and both move about with lightning speed. In the end, Langdon puts the Cadet on his back. The Instructor blows the whistle, concluding the match. Langdon offers to help the Cadet up, but he declines. INSTRUCTOR Good work, gentlemen. He addresses the cadets. INSTRUCTOR (continuing) Now if you're all thinking that these guys got to this level because their genes have been attuned for this kind of thing, you're wrong. While it did help, it still took a lot of dedication on their part. When the guys at the lab modify your genes, it'll get easier, but it won't be a cakewalk. So keep that in mind. You are dismissed. The cadets begin to scatter. Langdon looks at his watch again and sighs. INT. CLASSROOM A large number of students listen as their FEMALE INSTRUCTOR lectures. Langdon, as well as the Cadet from earlier, are two of those students. The two sit relatively in the same area. FEMALE INSTRUCTOR We are at a pivotol point in history. Not since the first half of the 21st Century has humanity been divided. Historians will look back on this time with great interest. A MALE STUDENT raises his hand. FEMALE INSTRUCTOR Yes? MALE STUDENT But it's so trivial. I mean, they're fighting over prices for godsake. FEMALE INSTRUCTOR Yes, and if you remember that was exactly what caused the American colonies to revolt against the British. The old saying rings true, 'history repeats itself.' That's all for today. I expect you'll have read chapters 22 and 23 by next meeting. You may leave. The students stand and collect their things. The Cadet from earlier eyes Langdon and follows him. INT. DESOLATE HALL In a desolate hall, Langdon is confronted by the gum chewing Cadet. They talk as they walk. CADET You're Langdon, right? LANGDON Yeah, that's me. And who are you? CADET FAUNDOO, JESSE FAUNDOO, formerly of ALPHA SQUADRON? I'm sure you've heard of me. LANGDON Yes, I've heard of you. So why'd you transfer here? JESSE I wanted to meet you. LANGDON What for? JESSE Some guys back home were saying stuff like you're the best, and they've seen you in action. Of course, I didn't believe it. LANGDON Oh yeah? Now whaddaya think? JESSE I think with a little more practice you could probably be on my level. Probably. LANGDON Oh really? JESSE Really. But it's OK, you're bound to get better. You've just gotta keep at it. A mouse walks along the wall. JESSE (continuing) Rodents. That's something we didn't have to deal with in Alpha Squadron. Jesse advances to stomp on it when Langdon pushes him and causes him to stumble. JESSE What's your problem? LANGDON You were gonna kill it. JESSE Your point which being? Langdon shakes his head and continues walking. Jesse catches up to him. LANGDON That's really something though. You came all this way just to test me. I'm flattered. Two beautiful blondes walk past the pair. JESSE Well yeah. For that, and the girls. Jesse persues them. JESSE I'll be seein' ya sometime then, Langly. Faundoo gets between the two and puts his arms around them. Langdon stops and observes. He then realizes something. LANGDON Iris. INT. OMEGA SQUADRON, SHIP PORT Cadets equipped with their belongings stand in the ship port. Iris being one of them. A dropship enters into the port and lands. A singular hatch opens and cadets head toward it. Iris looks around concerningly. She then sighs, picks up her bags, and heads for the ship. Langdon enters the port hurridly. LANGDON Iris! She turns and spots him. She drops her bags and rushes toward him. IRIS I didn't think you were going to see me off. LANGDON Yeah? You should be more optimistic. Iris smiles. IRIS Listen Langdon, I really appreciate what you did for me. But...it just won't be the same without you there. LANGDON They'll be other times. Christmas is coming up, you know. Iris nods. IRIS Yes, I know. Iris looks back and sees that most of the cadets have boarded. LANGDON You'd better get on board. Iris nods. She then heads toward the ship when suddenly, she stops. She drops her bags and rushes toward Langdon. The two embrace. Afterwards she kisses him on the cheek as tears flow from her eyes. Langdon wipes them away. LANGDON Tell everyone I said Happy Thanksgiving, OK? Iris nods. She then picks up her bags, heads for the ship, takes one last look at Langdon, and boards. The ship's hatch closes. It then hovers above ground a bit until it flys out of the port. Langdon watches until he can see it no more. He then heads for the exit when suddenly he is stricken by a female's voice. MYSTERIOUS VOICE They're coming...prepare yourselves...the end is nigh... Langdon looks around and spots no one. He pulls himself together and exits the port. EXT. UNISEE, PALACE BALCONY - MIDDAY From the palace balcony we can see that the Uniseeian people have been amassed in one area. Fedos, Fedora, and Lord Dalaysis stand in the balcony, while the Myrmidions remain encamped about the Uniseeian people. The people speak nervously amongst themselves. FEDOS Make them shut up, or I will. LORD DALAYSIS You don't understand, we've never experienced anything like this before. They don't know how to react. FEDORA Talk to them. Tell them of our demands. Lord Dalaysis sighs. He then outstretches his hands toward his people. LORD DALYSIS My people, please, listen to me. These invaders have promised to spare our lives only if we work for them. The murmuring of the crowd increases. Fedos folds his arms and taps his foot. FEDOS My patience is withering, Lord Dalaysis. Lord Dalaysis looks at Fedos nervously. He then resumes talking to his people. LORD DALAYSIS Please, you must quiet yourselves, otherwise they shall begin to slaughter us. The crowd's paranoia reaches an all time level. FEDOS Nice choice of words. FEDORA Enough of this nonsense! Fedora points randomly in the crowd. A man begins to hover upward until he is high above everyone else. He kicks and screams in midair. He then flies backward at incredible speed until he is out of our sight. The murmuring ceases. FEDORA Do you understand who you are dealing with now? Supreme power! The crowd remains silent. Fedos approaches the forefront of the balcony, making himself known to the people. FEDOS What your leader said is true. We shall allow you to live only if you build our ships, design our weapons, and construct our structures. Soon, we shall depart for your new home planet known as Bulgata. Enjoy these towering fortresses and vibrant colors while you can. A new reality awaits you all. The murmuring returns. Raphsidy enters the balcony. RAPHSIDY Preparations are complete, my lord and mistress. FEDOS Excellent. Let us board the Intimidator at once. You too, Lord Dalaysis. FEDORA Yes, we wouldn't want you to miss this. Accompanied by the Myrmidions, they leave. INT. OMEGA SQUADRON - CONTROL ROOM A male console OPERATOR notices a bleep on the radar. He informs Commander Wecker. OPERATOR Commander, we've got something coming our way, sir. Wecker makes his way toward the operator. WECKER What is it? A Marune Star Cruiser? A swarm of SORDAAN fighters? OPERATOR No, sir. It looks to be a small escape pod. Wecker looks at the radar. WECKER They could be jamming our signal. Sound the alarm just in case. OPERATOR Yes, sir. The Operator presses the alarm switch. INT. DORMS, LANGDON'S QUARTERS Langdon sits up in his bed while reading when he is disturbed by the sudden buzz of the alarm. He stands and heads toward the hall. He peaks out of his quarters when he catches a glance of Jesse and other cadets hurriedly running down the hall. LANGDON Faundoo, what's going on? JESSE Didn't you hear? We're going to war! On a speaker we can hear the following from a FEMALE. FEMALE SPEAKER All cadets report to your ships immediately. This is not a drill. All cadets report to your ships immediately. JESSE Come on man, let's go. Langdon follows after Jesse. INT. SHIP PORT Cadets scramble to get to their ships. Langdon and Jesse do the same. INT. CONTROL ROOM OPERATOR Sir, its heading towards the ship port. Wecker looks confused. WECKER I'm going down there. INT. SHIP PORT Langdon, Jesse, and the other cadets strap themselves in when suddenly Monafia's pod enters into the port. They observe. The pod lands and the hatch opens. Monafia exits. She looks around in awe at the machinery. MONAFIA Please, you've got to help me. My people, they're... Wecker enters the port. Langdon speaks to himself. LANGDON That voice... WECKER No need for alarm, cadets. You may return to your dorms. Cadets exit their ships and head for the exit. Jesse approaches Langdon, who still hasn't taken his eyes off of Monafia. Wecker approaches her. MONAFIA Please, sir, you have to help me. My people have been... WECKER Now, just hold on a minute there. What's your name? MONAFIA Monafia, Monafia Dalaysis. Wecker looks at her confusingly. WECKER Young lady, spying is a high price to pay. Did Sordaan send you here to spy on us? Monafia shakes her head. MONAFIA Sore...daan? I do not know of a Sordaan. Langdon begins approaching them. JESSE What are you doing? LANGDON I've got to talk to her. JESSE What? Jesse watches as he pulls away from him, he then follows. WECKER What about DORRIDION? Do you work for DELTA SQUADRON? Monafia shakes her head again. MONAFIA I... Langdon catches up to them. LANGDON Commander, let's hear her out first. WECKER I thought I told you cadets you could leave? LANGDON I know, but...I mean, just look at her. Look at her clothes, her ship, she can't possibly be from Sordaan or Dorridion. Wecker observes her clothing and then glances at the ship. WECKER OK young lady, lets hear what you have to say. MONAFIA My people, we have been attacked. We request assitance. WECKER Now, wait a minute, when you say 'your people', who do you mean? MONAFIA The people of Unisee. JESSE There is no colony called Unisee. WECKER You expect me to believe that you're alien? Oh, this is just too easy. The Sordaneese must take us for complete idiots. MONAFIA But, it's true. They have taken my people hostage. My father sent me here to warn you. Wecker sighs. WECKER Listen... LANGDON Wait a minute, Commander. What harm would it do to check up on it? I mean, if what she says is true then this will mark the first time we've come in contact with extraterrestrial life. Wecker sighs and then contemplates. WECKER I don't know why I'm doing this...all right, I'll go inform High Command and see if they know anything. MONAFIA Thank you, kind sir. WECKER And since you talked me into this, you're going to be responsible for her, Langdon. LANGDON Yes, sir. WECKER Take her to your dorm and...whatever. I'll get back to you when I hear something. Wecker heads for the exit and leaves. Jesse advances toward Monafia. JESSE Let me introduce myself, my name is Faundoo, Jesse Faundoo. And you are? Monafia looks at him confusingly. LANGDON What he meant to say was he's not going to bother you at all during your stay. Isn't that right, Jesse? Jesse looks at Langdon angrily. JESSE Fine. You can have her. She's not my type anyway. Jesse heads for the exit. LANGDON Why don't we go back to my dorm and we can talk there. MONAFIA ...OK. The two head for the exit. EXT. EARTH EMPIRE, SPRALLING METROPOLIS - MIDDAY The buildings of the metropolis seem to extend beyond the clouds. We watch as vehicles fly above the ground, making their way to their different destinations. EXT. EARTH EMPIRE, DOCKING BAY - CONTINUOS Iris, along with a few other cadets, walk on a dock that leads toward a small submarine. The metropolis can be seen in the distance. A male SAILOR greets them. SAILOR Greetings. I hope you enjoyed your flight. We'll now be escorting you to AQUANATA, one of the most beautiful underwater facilities in the world. I'm going to ask that everyone please board so we can be on our way. Iris smiles. Cadets begin boarding. EXT. UNISEE, EXTENDED VIEW OF INTIMIDATOR WARSHIP - MIDDAY The Intimidator hovers over the Uniseeian structures. INT. INTIMIDATOR WARSHIP, BRIDGE - CONTINUOS Fedos and Fedora stand near the observation screen while Raphsidy commandeers the controls. Lord Dalaysis stands near the exit to the bridge, with two Myrmidions encamped about him. One of the Myrmidions is noticeably different from the other. He's much more bulkier then the others and his regalia is seperate from the others. He is ILLZAR, the highest ranking Myrmidion of the Bulgata. RAPHSIDY The cannon is ready. Fedos motions toward Lord Dalaysis. FEDOS Come, you simply must see this. You too, Illzar. Illzar and Lord Dalaysis head toward them. FEDOS You may do the honors, my beloved. FEDORA Obliterate them! RAPHSIDY Firing...now. EXT. BULGATA - SUPER - BULGATA Bulgata's structures are mechanized and bathed in brown. Its sky sheds no light. A large cannon reveals itself from a sliding door on the ground. The cannon preps, and fires, releasing an extended red laser into the atmosphere. INT. INTIMIDATOR WARSHIP, BRIDGE Fedos, Fedora, Illzar, and Lord Dalaysis watch through the observation screen as the pulsing red stream travels through space. LORD DALAYSIS What is that? FEDOS That, my friend, is the end. Fedos and Fedora laugh hysterically. INT. OMEGA SQUADRON, LANGDON'S QUARTERS Langdon and Monafia sit at Langdon's desk. LANGDON So, how is it that you only contacted me? MONAFIA I focused on contacting someone pure of heart, someone...who would help us. LANGDON And this Bulgata... MONAFIA They're savages. Many worlds have fallen. LANGDON I see. Langdon contemplates. LANGDON I don't understand though, how is it that you are able to speak this language? That's probably one of the reasons the commander doesn't initally believe your story. Monafia looks at him confusingly. MONAFIA I...do not know. Perhaps my father has the answer to that question. Langdon stands. LANGDON (continuing) Well, in any case, I'd better inform the commander. But first, let's get you something to eat. You're probably starving. MONAFIA Food would be nice. LANGDON Follow me and stay close. MONAFIA OK. Langdon walks toward the exit and Monafia follows. The sliding door opens and Monafia stops. She observes the sliding door with a burning curiosity. Langdon stops. LANGDON What is it? MONAFIA It...it is nothing. The two head through the hall. INT. MESS HALL Students sit at elongated tables and benches as they eat their meals. A few students stand in line, waiting to serve themselves. Television monitors are mounted in the rooms corners. Langdon and Monafia enter. The students sitting stare at Monafia as she enters. Langdon escorts her to a desolate area of the Mess Hall. LANGDON I'll be right back, OK? She nods. Langdon advances toward the line. Monafia watches as students stare at her as they speak. She then turns away from them, looking lowly towards the ground. Gum chewing Jesse spots Langdon as he prepares a dish for Monafia and heads toward him. LANGDON What do you want? JESSE Hey man, I'm just checkin' up on things. So, what she tell ya? Langdon scoops up some shrimp. LANGDON She said that some aliens are trying to enslave her people and that they're coming after us next. JESSE That's one wack broad. LANGDON I don't know... JESSE Oh come on, you can't possibly believe that. Langdon picks up a small cup of shrimp sauce. JESSE (continuing) She's a spy man, I'm tellin' ya. When I was at Alpha Squadron we caught a lot of 'em who were really working for Delta. LANGDON Well then, why the front? Why go to all that trouble to dress and act the way she does? JESSE They're trained for that. They're like, chameleons. Jesse looks toward Monafia who's entrenched in her surroundings. JESSE (continuing) Man, she must be their best agent. Langdon drains a beverage from its filter into a cup. He then shakes his head. LANGDON I just don't believe it. The two head toward Monafia. Langdon sits beside her and Jesse from across. Langdon places the tray and beverage in front of her. LANGDON I hope you like it. It's called shrimp. Monafia smells it. Langdon picks one up and dips it in the sauce. LANGDON Here, like this. Langdon attempts to feed it to her. She hesitates. LANGDON Come on, you'll never know unless you try it. Hesitantly, Monafia accepts. Langdon and Jesse watch for a response. MONAFIA I...like it. Langdon smiles. Jesse shakes his head. Monafia picks up the cup and sips. She then drinks more. She repositions the cup and reaches for more shrimp. EXT. EARTH, EXTENDED VIEW OF AQUANATA The submarine travels toward the sparkling underwater palace Aquanata. INT. EARTH, AQUANATA DOCKING BAY/LOBBY Cadets exit the submarine with their belongings. Older peole, presumably parents, greet them upon their arrival. Iris exits the submarine. She then looks to and fro and spots two people of familiarity. A middle aged man and a middle aged woman. She waves as she approaches them. IRIS Mom, dad! MOTHER Sweetie, oh its been so long. Iris hugs her mother. IRIS I missed you both so much. Iris hugs her father. FATHER Come on, let's get you unpacked. MOTHER Wait a minute, where's Langdon? IRIS Well, they only let so many of us go this year, what, with the conflict and all. FATHER That's too bad. I really like that kid. Iris smiles. The trio make their way through the confusion. EXT. OMEGA SQUADRON, CONTROL ROOM The male Operator from before informs Commander Wecker of an occurence on the radar. OPERATOR I've got something on the radar, sir. Wecker heads toward him. WECKER Well, what is it? OPERATOR I don't know. Our readings are off the charts. Wecker looks at the radar and sees a long red stream. Other personnel begin enmassing toward the radar. OPERATOR It's flying past us. WECKER ...Whatever it is, it's heading for Earth. The personnel watch through the window as the pulsing read beam flys past them, causing the station to tremble. INT. MESS HALL Students move about cautiously as the mess hall quivers and the lights flicker. LANGDON What was that? JESSE Probably the generator acting up. EXT. EARTH, METROPOLIS - MIDDAY Vehicles fly above the ground as towering structures act as their protection. People walk along on sidewalks. EXT. EARTH, COUNTRY AREA - CONTINUOS In the distance, we can see the metropolitan area. A little girl sings to herself while playing in a sandbox. Her mother exits their cottage-inspired house. MOTHER Dinner's ready, ANGIE. Come on in and wash your hands. ANGIE OK. Angie stands and heads gingerly toward the house when she stops and turns toward the metro. A small humming noise can be heard. Its pitch gets louder, then louder, and louder still. Her mother exits. MOTHER Angie, you don't want it to get cold, do you? She approaches her daughter. MOTHER What is it? She looks toward the sky and wathces as the pulsing red beam splits the clouds and heads toward the metro. She gasps. EXT. EARTH, METROPOLIS - CONTINUOS The people on the sidewalk can do nothing but glance upward, when suddenly, the beam crashes straight into a building, producing a rippling effect that begins to spread incredibly fast, engulfing everything in its wake. EXT. EARTH, COUNTRY AREA - CONTINUOS Angie cries while holding on to her mother, as the aftereffect heads toward them. ANGIE MOMMY! INT. AQUANATA, DOCKING BAY Aquanata shakes and quivers from the impact. Screaming is heard. The lights go out. INT. OMEGA SQUADRON, CONTROL ROOM Personnel look on through the window in horror as the rippling effect makes its way around the world. A similiar effect caused by the impact flys from Earth and heads toward them. The space station shivers once again, this time with much more force, as the shockwave passes over them. WECKER Get me High Command. EXT. EARTH, RUINS OF METROPOLIS - MIDDAY The once mighty structures lay in ruin. Small streams of smoke billow from the blast. Movement of any kind is nowhere to be seen. INT. INTIMIDATOR WARSHIP, BRIDGE Fedos and Fedora look on through the observation screen as the rippling effect continues to travel around the world. FEDOS I'd say the weapon works perfectly. LORD DALAYSIS You...you murderers! FEDOS Murderers? We spared your people, didn't we? FEDORA We just had a message that we needed to get across. Now that the message has been delivered, they'll subjugate themselves unto us with little resistance. RAPHSIDY If I may intercede, my mistress, we just destroyed their home planet. I think they'll put up even more of a resistance. Perhaps we should prepare in case of a retailation? FEDOS In any case, I'm tired of these slaughters. I want a war, an interstellar war. Gather the entirety of our army here, Raphsidy. Fedos turns toward Illzar. FEDOS (continuing) You may get some action yet, Illzar. Illzar bows. ILLZAR (continuing) I live and die for the Bulgata, my lord. FEDORA In the meantime, let us keep them busy by sending an attack force toward their outpost near Earth. RAPHSIDY As you wish, my mistress. Raphsidy presses a button on the control panel. EXT. INTIMIDATOR, EXTENDED VIEW OF SHIP PORT A plethora of fighters continuously fly out of the Intimidator ship port and head toward the atmosphere. INT. MESS HALL The students are in dissaray thanks to the last shockwave. MONAFIA What is happening? LANGDON I don't know, but I don't think it's the generator acting up. Langdon stands. LANGDON (continuing) I'm going to go see the commander. JESSE Relax man, everything's gonna be fine. You worry too much. The monitors in the corners of the room turn on. We see the beginnings of a news program highlighted by the words SPECIAL REPORT. The students turn and head towards the nearest monitors. The same Female Reporter from Wecker's quarters reports. FEMALE REPORTER We're taking you away from your regularly scheduled broadcast to report something most tragic. We have received reports from officials at the Omega Squadron Academy and High Command itself that... The reporter chokes. FEMALE REPORTER An advanced alien race has laid waste to... The reporter chokes again. FEMALE REPORTER I...I can't do this... The Reporter begins crying and leaves. Langdon and Jesse exchange glances. Another reporter, this time a man, takes her place. MALE REPORTER We apologize for that. LILY is just a little shaken up from the news. What she meant to say was...humanity has been attacked...by an advanced alien race. Earth has been...annihilated, reduced to rubble. This is truly the darkest day we have ever known. The representatives of Earth and the other colonies have however, united once again, and promises everyone that retribution will be collected, at all cost. Unfortunately, that's all we know, and as more news develops, rest assured, we'll break in with it. Lastly, we just want to extend our condolence to everyone who may have lost someone. May God be with you...may God be with us all. The news program concludes. The looks on the cadets faces are expectedly grim. Some of which cry in the background. Langdon looks lowly and takes a seat. Jesse and Monafia follow. LANGDON Iris... JESSE I...can't believe this is happening. MONAFIA I'm sorry...if I had only gotten here sooner maybe... LANGDON No, it's not your fault. If you all don't mind, I'd...like to be alone for a while. Langdon stands and heads for the exit. EXT. MARUNE, EXTENDED VIEW OF HIGH COMMAND - NIGHT Similar to Earth's former spralling metropolis, Marune's structures stand as high as the sky. INT. HIGH COMMAND, CONFERENCE ROOM - CONTINUOS The conference room is shaped in the form of a dome and packed with officials from Earth, Marune, Sordaan, and Dorridion. The seats which they occupy take up two floors and when looked upon from above are in the form of a horseshoe. A sliding door on the floor of the room opens and a lone man, who appears to be in his mid 30's, enters. He is Czar Shepard. He walks toward the center of the room toward a circular pattern housing a chair. However, he doesn't sit. SPEAKER All stand for Czar Shepard. The diplomats do as they're told. Sheperd motions for them to sit. CZAR SHEPARD Please, sit. They sit. CZAR SHEPARD Ladies, gentlemen, what do we know about these...aliens? DIPLOMAT # 2 Close to nothing, sire. CZAR SHEPARD Nothing? How can that be? They all but destroy Earth, and nothing was picked up on radar? DIPLOMAT # 3 We assume that they've engineered some sort of cloaking device, thereby making our radars useless. CZAR SHEPARD Well I'm sorry, but I can't make an informed decision based on misinformation. Just the facts please. Who informed us of Earth's destruction? DIPLOMAT # 4 Commander Wecker of Omega Squadron. CZAR SHEPARD And they didn't see anything? No star cruisers? No fighters? DIPLOMAT # 3 He did inform us of a woman claiming to be of alien origin who arrived there shortly before the incident. CZAR SHEPARD Anything else? Diplomat # 2 looks over some papers. DIPLOMAT # 2 (continuing) Yes, eh...according to Wecker, her world has fallen victim to another alien race, and she came to us for help. Shepard contemplates. CZAR SHEPARD I want to see her. Meanwhile, I want an armada to gather near Earth. They may try to wipe out the Omega Squadron, and that would be a crippling blow. And to the rest of humanity, continue to propagate our battle cry for revenge, retribution will be collected. INT. OMEGA SQUADRON, ELONGATED HALL Langdon stands alone in an elongated hall that houses elongated windows on both of its sides, allowing for a view of Earth and the stars of the universe. He stares. Monafia enters the hall from a sliding door. He doesn't look toward her. LANGDON I felt your presence again. Is that how you found me? MONAFIA Yes. She heads toward him. MONAFIA (continuing) You had...family down there? LANGDON No, just a friend. A friend that I...cared a lot about. MONAFIA I'm sorry. LANGDON No, it's not your fault. I allowed her to go in my place. I should've been the one who...perished. MONAFIA But, you did not know. It's not your fault either, it is the Bulgata's. They're the ones who did this. Silence engulfs the hall as they stare at Earth. MONAFIA (continuing) If they did this to your world then...my people will surely suffer. Langdon shakes his head. LANGDON No, they won't. I'm going to do everything in my power to make sure of that. MONAFIA Thank you. Langdon puts on a small smile. LANGDON It's getting late. Let's get some rest. I'm sure they'll come up with something in the morning. You can sleep in my bed. MONAFIA OK. The two head towards the sliding door and exit. INT. AQUANATA, DOCKING BAY/LOBBY The lights of Aqaunata resume operation. People speak nervously amongst themselves. IRIS What happened? FATHER I don't know. MOTHER Could it have been an earthquake? A male UNIFORMED EMPLOYEE of Aquanata appears before the nervous people. UNIFORMED EMPLOYEE People, may I please have your attention? They quiet down. UNIFORMED EMPLOYEE (continuing) The news is reporting that Earth has been attacked. Nervous chatter resumes among the people. Iris speaks up. IRIS Was it an unprovoked attack? The employee shakes his head. UNIFORMED EMPLOYEE No, it wasn't from the colonies, they're reporting that it was alien. The nervous chatter is now even louder. Iris' Father speaks to himself. FATHER Aliens? Iris speaks up again. IRIS I'm a cadet for the Omega Squadron, I need to get back. Her mother tugs at her. MOTHER Iris. UNIFORMED EMPLOYEE Everything on the surface is gone, and we're trying to get our communications equipment back online. Until we can establish contact, everyone is going to have to stay here. The nervous chatter escalates. UNIFORMED EMPLOYEE (continuing) Please, remain calm. Iris turns toward her parents. IRIS I have to get back, they need me. Iris' father shakes his head. FATHER If they destroyed Earth this easily then...Omega Squadron proabably has all ready been... He looks toward Iris, who then begins to cry. Her parents comfort her. EXT. SPACE, EXTENDED VIEW OF THE OMEGA SQUADRON An enormous star cruiser, being escorted by a swarm of fighters and smaller star cruisers, head toward the Omega Squadron. INT. OMEGA SQUADRON, DOCKING BAY The large star cruiser enters the docking bay and positions itself near other smaller star cruisers. Two rows of cadets, equipped with laser guns and in uniform, stand opposite each other. Commander Wecker stands on the end farthest from the cruiser. The hatch to the star cruiser opens and Czar Shepard, being escorted by two aids, exit. Wecker heads toward him. COMMANDER WECKER Your Excellency, it is good to see you again, sir. Shepard nods and begins walking. Wecker walks along with him. CZAR SHEPARD Have you picked up any movement on radar since the attack? COMMANDER WECKER No, sir. CZAR SHEPARD And what about a rescue team? For Earth? COMMANDER WECKER We're in the process of doing that now, sir. CZAR SHEPARD I understand you're housing an alien here. COMMANDER WECKER An alien? You mean the girl, sir? CZAR SHEPARD Yes. I want to speak with her. COMMANDER WECKER I'll summon her for you personally, sir. INT. LANGDON'S QUARTERS Monafia sleeps in the bed while Langdon covers up on the floor. A buzzing sound awakens them both. Langdon goes to answer. It is, of course, Commander Wecker. LANGDON Commander Wecker? COMMANDER WECKER I apologize for waking you so early, but Czar Sheperd wishes to speak with the girl. LANGDON Czar Shepard? Here? Wecker nods. COMMANDER WECKER Follow me Mona...Mona... MONAFIA Monafia. COMMANDER WECKER Yes, that's it. LANGDON Sir, may I go too? COMMANDER WECKER Langdon, this will be a highly classified... LANGDON I understand that, sir. But...she might feel a little awkward if she's surrounded by people she hasn't been in contact with. Wecker contemplates. COMMANDER WECKER OK, both of you, let's go. INT. OMEGA SQUADRON, CONFERENCE ROOM The sliding door slides and Wecker enters, followed by Langdon and Monafia. The Omega Squad's conference room is much smaller than High Command's. Its ceiling is almost touchable and windows populate its front and sides. An elongated table sits in the middle of the room. The two aids from earlier sit at the end of the table closests to the sliding door, while Czar Shepard stares out of one of the windows. Notepads are positioned in front of them. Shepard turns toward them. CZAR SHEPARD So this is the alien girl? What about him? Why is he here? COMMANDER WECKER This is Langdon Hughes, sir. A member of Omega Elite and the one who I put in charge of the girl. We felt that she might feel somewhat akward if she came in here alone. Shepard contemplates. CZAR SHEPARD Fair enough. Everyone, please sit. They do as they're told. Sheperd remains standing. CZAR SHEPARD Young lady, what is your name? MONAFIA Monafia, Monafia Dalysis. CZAR SHEPARD Monafia, we're going to ask you some questions that might help us deter this alien threat. You don't mind that, do you? Monafia nods. AID #1 speaks up. AID #1 When these aliens attacked you, was it similar to how they attacked us? MONAFIA No, there was a ship. AID #2 You mean there were ships? MONAFIA No, just one. The aids exchange glances with Shepard. They then jot down notes in their pads. CZAR SHEPARD Is there anything else that you remember about them? MONAFIA I remember seeing soldiers. They surrounded my father. AID #1 Can you describe them? MONAFIA They were very bulky...and they had weapons. AID #2 Why did they attack you? MONAFIA We had never seen them up to that point...but, I remember hearing something about manual labor. AID #1 Manual labor, that must be what they're after. CZAR SHEPARD Well if that's what they want then why did they destroy Earth? Why not harvest it? MONAFIA Their leaders are driven by war. It excites them. AID #2 How do you know that? MONAFIA I heard it from a conversation they had with my father. AID #1 And this was before you escaped? MONAFIA No, after. The aids exchange glances with Shepard again. CZAR SHEPARD You're contradicting yourself, Monafia. How could you have heard their conversation if you weren't there? MONAFIA My father contacted me telepathically. Shepard squints. LANGDON It's true. That's how she contacted me. MONAFIA My people are born with telepathy. When they sieged my father, he allowed me to see through his eyes. CZAR SHEPARD What else can you tell us? MONAFIA This is all I know. CZAR SHEPARD OK gentlemen, what do we have? AID #1 An alien race who's driven by war and labor. CZAR SHEPARD That would partially explain the attack on Earth. AID #2 Uses weapons of mass destruction, soldiers, and star cruisers. COMMANDER WECKER What, no fighters? CZAR SHEPARD At least we now have an idea what we're up against. It's a start. Thank you for cooperating, Monafia. You may be excused. LANGDON Wait a minute, aren't you going to go after them? CZAR SHEPARD First off, we don't know where they are. LANGDON Monafia knows. She flew here, remember? MONAFIA I could show you. Please sir, you must save my people. CZAR SHEPARD We will save them. But our actions have to be pre-planned. I don't want to send everyone we have into the unknown. LANGDON But if we wait too long it'll be... COMMANDER WECKER That's enough, Langdon. You may take Monafia back to your quarters now. Langdon glances to and fro at their faces. LANGDON Let's go, Monafia. Langdon and Monafia head toward the exit and leave. COMMANDER WECKER I apologize on his behalf, sir. CZAR SHEPARD No need. The boy has a big heart. I commend him for it. INT. OMEGA SQUADRON, HALL Langdon and Monafia walk through a hall. MONAFIA What are we going to do now? Langdon sighs. LANGDON I wish I knew. Jesse approaches them from behind. JESSE Langdon, Monafia. He catches up to them. They talk as they walk. JESSE Where have you been? I've been lookin' everywhere for ya. LANGDON We had a meeting with Czar Shepard. JESSE Oh really? What he say? LANGDON Nothing. At least nothing that we wanted to hear. The buzz of the alarm startles them. The Female Voice from earlier returns. FEMALE VOICE All cadets report to your ships immediately. This is not a drill. All cadets report to your ships immediately. JESSE Hey, I'm not falling for this again. LANGDON Monafia, go to my dorm and wait there, OK? Mona nods and heads down the hall. LANGDON Come on. Jesse sighs and follows. INT. OMEGA SQUADRON, CONTROL ROOM Shepard and Wecker enter the control room and hurriedly make their way to the radar. OPERATOR We've got a lotta things popping up on the radar, sirs. The two look toward the radar and see a swarm of small objects. CZAR SHEPARD Fighters. They must be fighters. EXT. SPACE, EXTENDED VIEW OF OMEGA SQUADRON A swarm of fighters head toward the Omega Squadron. INT. OMEGA SQUADRON, SHIP PORT Cadets scramble to get to their ships. Langdon and Jesse strap up. We watch as Langdon flips a few switches and his ship begins to hover. He, along with Jesse and a few other fighters, fly out of the port. INT. OMEGA SQUADRON, CONTROL ROOM Shepard and Wecker stand over the Operator. Shepard speaks up. CZAR SHEPARD I need to speak with them. OPERATOR Yes, sir. The Operator hands Shepard a headset equipped with a microphone. He puts it on. EXT. SPACE, EXTENDED VIEW OF OMEGA SQUADRON The cadets fly out of the ship port. Shepard speaks to them. During Shepard's address, we periodically see the faces of nameless cadets and then make our way to Jesse and Langdon in that order. CZAR SHEPARD All right pilots, listen up. This is the first time we actually get a chance to fight back, so I want you to go out there and fight like you've never fought before. Let's show these aliens that humanity doesn't take kindly to strangers. JESSE In other words, let's kick some ass! EXT. SPACE The first wave of fighters from both groups shoot relentlessly at one another, but to no avail. LANGDON They're heading toward the academy. The Bulgata fighters get within firing range and let loose a flood of attacks from their lasers. They then fly around and in between the exterior of the structure with cadets not far behind. We watch as Langdon chases after a Bulgata fighter. The station's own cannons attempts to destroy the fighter but comes up short. Langdon fires shots from his cannons but the fighter weaves in and out of the station's crevices. Langdon accidentally hits the station. LANGDON Shoot. Can I get some help here? JESSE I'm on it. Langdon continues chasing after the fighter when lasers descend from above us and blow the fighter into smithereens. Langdon flys through the exploding remains. LANGDON Thanks, Faundoo. JESSE Hey, like I said, I'm the...whoa...shi... A laser from a Bulgata fighter scars Jesse's craft. LANGDON Are you all right? JESSE Yeah, nothin' serious. I can make it. The fighter follows Jesse religiously through space. Lasers coninuously deploy from it towards Jesse, and he finds himself constantly having to manuever around them. Lasers from another Bulgata fighter charge toward him from in front. JESSE Good God! Miraculously, Jesse manages to evade attacks from them both. The fighters continuously fire their lasers and Jesse descends his craft. The fighters destroy one another. JESSE Idiots. LANGDON I've got two on my tail. JESSE Head for Earth. Langdon flies away from the chaos of the battle and heads toward Earth, with Jesse joinining him on his side. EXT. EARTH, RUINS OF METROPOLIS The two fly through thick clouds and over the blue sea when they behold the tarred ruins of the Metropolis, which looks like something out of a Tim Burton film. LANGDON I can't believe they did this. JESSE These guys are gonna pay! The two fly close to the water and lasers descend from above them, splashing water around them. Langdon's ship does an array of twists to avoid the blast. The two fly onto the scarred mainland, weaving in and out between burnt fallen structures, all while being chased by the Bulgata fighters. JESSE You got any idea how to get rid of these pests? LANGDON You're the one who told me to come down here, remember? JESSE Hey, I just wanted to see how badly they damaged things. Langdon sighs. LANGDON Follow me. JESSE Aye, aye, captain. Jesse follows Langdon around burnt sagging structures when they approach a crippled bridge. LANGDON All right, stay close to me. JESSE You got it. Langdon flips an array of switches and then hits a button marked PHOTON TORPEDO. A small green light departs from his craft and blasts the bridge. The two fly under it just before its crumbling remains crushes one of the Bulgata fighters. JESSE Ha hah, I bet he didn't see that comin'. LANGDON We're not out of the woods yet, we've still got that other one to deal with. JESSE No problem. Follow my lead. Jesse leads Langdon around the charred remains of buildings structured in the form of columns, all while being fired upon by the Bulgata fighter. Jesse makes reference to a bigger column coming up in the horizon. JESSE Let's circle around that one. LANGDON We'll have to speed up to trick him. The two fighters receive a sudden boost and head toward the gigantic column. They fly around it and the Bulgata fighter does only a half circle around it. The Myrmidion looks to and fro in his fighter, but can't find them. The fighters approach him from behind. JESSE We're behind you, ya jack ass. Lasers depart from their ships and destroy the fighter, sending its remains every-which-a-way. LANGDON Let's get back to the academy. The two crafts ascend past the clouds. INT. OMEGA SQUADRON, SHIP PORT We watch as Langdon and Jesse's crafts enter the ship port. They land. Near the entrance of the port, Czar Shepard, along with Commander Wecker, speak to the cadets. Langdon and Jesse unstrap and head toward the massed crowd. CZAR SHEPARD Ladies, gentlemen, I just want to reiterate to you just how very pleased I was. That was some fine fighting. If we keep up this level of excellence we shouldn't have any problems ridding ourselves of this alien threat. As a token of our appreciation, we have arranged, for your pleasure, an assortment of refreshments in the mess hall. The cadets look on with uninterested expressions on their faces. Shepard looks from face to face. Wecker speaks up. COMMANDER WECKER Free of charge, of course. Upon hearing that, the cadets hurriedly make their way out of the ship port. COMMANDER WECKER You've just got to speak their lingo. CZAR SHEPARD Yes I'll...make note of it. Langdon and Jesse approach the two. COMMANDER WECKER Langdon Hughes and Jesse Faundoo, you came in much later than the other cadets. We expect an explanation. JESSE We led the some of the enemy to Earth, for uh...tactical reasons. COMMANDER WECKER Next time stick to protocol. We can't afford losing some of our finest cadets to what pretty much amounts to horseplay. JESSE Yes, sir. CZAR SHEPARD There's been an assortment of refreshments prepared in the mess hall. Enjoy yourselves. You are dismissed. LANGDON Sir, if I may? Now that you've gotten a chance to see what they can do, wouldn't an attack of our own suffice? Shepard sighs. CZAR SHEPERD This again. COMMANDER WECKER Langdon, you are in no position to be asking of such things. CZAR SHEPARD It's all right, Wecker. Langdon, we are planning something. But we won't see the results of our planning until at least another three days. I'm sorry, but spontaniety and the military just don't mix, at least not in my view. Langdon nods accordingly. LANGDON I understand, sir. JESSE Come on, Langley, let's go fill up on some of those refreshments. Jesse heads off. Langdon trails behind him. He stops. LANGDON Sir, I don't want you to think that I'm over stepping my bounds or anything, but...I just don't think they'll be anything to rescue in three days. Langdon leaves. Shepard contemplates. COMMANDER WECKER Sir, I... CZAR SHEPaRD No, no, the kids got a point. And if there was something I could do, I'd do it. Shepard sighs. CZAR SHEPARD (continuing) Let's see if we cannot iron out the rest of our plan. COMMANDER WECKER Yes, sir. The two head for the sliding door and exit. INT. DORMS, LANGDON'S QUARTERS Monafia sits alone near the desk when Langdon enters. MONAFIA You're back. All went well, I assume? Langdon nods. MONAFIA What is the matter? Langdon sits on the bed. LANGDON I tried talking with Czar Shepard again and...it doesn't look they'll be making a move for a while. Monafia looks saddend. MONAFIA It is OK. You tried, and for that I am grateful. Langdon stands and walks around the room in deep contemplation. He looks toward Monafia. LANGDON Look...I might not be able to save everyone but...your father, we could at least attempt to rescue him. Monafia gasps. She rushes toward Langdon and hugs him. MONAFIA (continuing) I don't know what to say...thank you, Langdon. Langdon heads toward his closet and pulls out a Killimari weapon and a laser gun, both of which are encased in their sheaths. He flings the Killimari around his back and the laser gun along his side. LANGDON (continuing) You shouldn't. I'm going to get in so much trouble for this...but, it's the right thing to do. MONAFIA You are a saint. He smiles. LANGDON (continuing) Come on. The two head through the sliding door. INT. HALL OUTSIDE OF SHIP PORT Langdon and Monafia walk cautiously toward the ship port. They stop in front of the sliding door. LANGDON You do know how to get back to your planet, right? MONAFIA Yes, I remember. LANGDON OK, let's... A male UNIFORMED OFFICER approaches them from down the hall. They stop and stand in front of the sliding door. Langdon nods at him, he nods back. LANGDON Hi. UNIFORMED OFFICER Hey. By this time, the officer has made some headway down the hall. MONAFIA Hi. The officer turns and stares at Monafia briefly, whose smiling. The officer exits their range of site. The two hurriedly enter the ship port. INT. SHIP PORT Langdon and Monafia head toward Langdon's ship. The hatch opens and they enter. LANGDON Can you show me on here? A screen turns on in Monafia's compartment, revealing an array of star systems. She looks down toward it. LANGDON It's touch sensitive. Select your world. Monafia does as she's told and encircles a star system located in the upper right hand corner. MONAFIA Here. The circle reveals itself on Langdon's screen. LANGDON Which world? MONAFIA The blue one. Langdon flips an array of switches and the ship begins to hover. LANGDON Next stop, Unisee. The ship flys out of the port, producing a motion blur effect. INT. OMEGA SQUADRON, CONTROL ROOM The male Operator informs Shepard and Wecker of an occurence on the radar. OPERATOR Sirs, the radar's acting up again. The two head toward him. OPERATOR (continuing) It looks to be one of our own. CZAR SHEPARD It's leaving the ship port. COMMANDER WECKER That's Langdon's ship. EXT. SPACE, LANGDON'S CRAFT Wecker speaks to Langdon through his helmet. COMMANDER WECKER Langdon, what in God's name are you doing? Get back here now! LANGDON I'm going to rescue her father, with or without your help, sir. And you're not going to talk me out of it. Langdon out. Langdon presses a button blocking further transmission. The ship flys on through space. INT. OMEGA SQUADRON, CONTROL ROOM Commander Wecker speaks through the head set. COMMANDER WECKER Langdon? Langdon?! Wecker takes off the head set. COMMANDER WECKER (continuing) He blocked my transmission. CZAR SHEPARD Hmm. Shepard walks away from him. CZAR SHEPARD (continuing) That girl is the only one who knows where her planet is. If she dies then... COMMANDER WECKER We'll be sitting ducks. CZAR SHEPARD I want them followed with as many cruisers and fighters as we can muster. INT. MESS HALL Jesse sits alone with a spread of various dishes in his sight. He picks up a hamburger and starts to bite when the alarm goes off again. FEMALE VOICE All cadets report to your ships immediately. This is not a drill. All cadets report to your ships immediately. Cadets scramble out of the mess hall. Jesse looks at the food in dismay. JESSE Aww man. He takes the hamburger with him and goes about his way. EXT. SPACE, EXTENDED VIEW OF OMEGA SQUADRON We watch as the gargantuan star cruiser gets escorted by the smaller star cruisers and a swarm of fighters. INT. THE CZAR'S STAR CRUISER, BRIDGE Czar Shepard stands with Commander Wecker in the bridge of the Czar's Star Cruiser. CZAR SHEPARD Looks like the boy got his wish afterall. EXT. SPACE The Star Cruisers and fighters enter hyper space, flying at ridiculous speeds and causing the universe to bend. EXT. EARTH, RUINS OF METROPOLIS Cadets exit the submarine and look in horror at the burnt remains of Earth, one of which is Iris. She gasps. A dropship begins to descend from the sky. It lands on the rubble. The cadets begin entering. EXT. SPACE, LANGDON'S CRAFT Langdon looks at his radar. In the distance a few green points reveal themselves. LANGDON Looks like we're being followed. MONAFIA Followed? By whom? LANGDON Probably the Czar, the Commander, and all of Omega Squadron. I guess he changed his mind. Silence engulfs the ship. MONAFIA Langdon? LANGDON Yes? MONAFIA Why are you doing this for me? Langdon remains silent. MONAFIA (continuing) Is it for revenge? For what they did to your friend? LANGDON It's...because of a lot of things. Monafia puts on a small smile. MONAFIA My father will be ever so grateful to you...that is if the Bulgata haven't... LANGDON Don't talk like that. I wouldn't be in this ship now if I didn't believe he was still alive. In the distance, we can see the emergence of a blue planet. LANGDON Is that it? Monafia looks toward its direction. MONAFIA Yes. The ship flys toward Unisee. EXT. HIGH ORBIT OVER UNISEE, LANGDON'S CRAFT Langdon flys over green terran and through thick white clouds, clouds that obscure visibility. He looks to and fro. LANGDON I can't see through this stuff. Where is it? MONAFIA Head west...I think... Langdon does as he's told. In the distance, the light shaded blue and pink structures of Unisee comes into view. MONAFIA There, it's there. The ship flys toward the structures. INT. INTIMIDATOR WARSHIP, BRIDGE Raphsidy enters the desolate bridge and heads toward the controls. He notices a red dot on the radar. He observes. A swarm of red dots then enter within the radar dectability. He gasps and leaves. EXT. UNISEE, EXTENDED VIEW OF LANGDON'S CRAFT - MIDDAY The craft flies over the colorful structures of Unisee. From the ship's point of view we can see that the Uniseeian people have been massed near the palace balcony again. Monafia makes reference to the ship port. MONAFIA The ship port is there. INT. UNISEEIAN PALACE, SHIP PORT -CONTINUOS The craft flys into the ship port and lands. The hatch flys open and Langdon and Monafia depart. MONAFIA We must hurry. Langdon follows hurriedly after her. INT. UNISEE, PALACE BALCONY - CONTINUOS Fedos, Fedora, Lord Dalaysis, and Illzar stand in the palace balcony. Fedos addresses the Uniseeians. Lord Dalaysis looks on heartbroken. The people speak nervously amongst themselves. FEDOS The time has come, my lovelies. From the palace balcony we can see that the Myrmidions are gathering the people into drop ships. The people begin to quiet themselves while looking toward the balcony. FEDOS (continuing) Do not fear, for we are taking you away from the majesty of this place, from its warm embrace you will go, to a most cold world. A world where you'll get one meal a day, if that. A world where the sky sheds no light. A world where you'll contribute to the technological advancement of the Bulgata. Fedos pauses and contemplates. FEDOS (continuing) I take that back. You should be very fearful. Let fear consume your very being, your every thought. Let nothing come across your puny minds but fear. Fedora laughs hysterically. FEDORA (continuing) That's enough brain washing for today, my love. We'll have plenty of time for that later. FEDOS Yes, Bulgata awaits. Come. The four exit the balcony and walk into the throne room. FEDOS You did well, Lord Dalaysis. The transition from you to I is complete. Unfortunately, we have no more use for you. Lord Dalaysis looks at them in shock. FEDORA Oh please, don't start with that. Allowing you to live would give the people hope. Hope is not good. Hope, is bad. FEDOS Indeed. Illzar, dispose of him. Illzar advances toward Lord Dalaysis just as Fedos and Fedora make their way to the exit. Langdon and Monafia enter. MONAFIA Father! She rushes toward him, disregarding Fedos and Fedora, and embraces him. Langdon pulls out the Killimari. Illzar rushes toward his king and queen. LORD DALAYSIS My daughter. Langdon paces back and forth while speaking to them. LANGDON (continuing) On behalf of the Omega Squadron Academy, High Command, and humanity, I hereby order you to cease and desist any and all... Fedos and Fedora disregard his statements. FEDORA He's from Earth. FEDOS That little wench must have led him here. LANGDON (continuing) ...actions against these people. FEDOS Are you done? LANGDON If you do not adhere to my request, I, Langdon Hughes, will have your heads on a platter. Fedora laughs wickedly. FEDORA (continuing) Highly unlikely. FEDOS He's quite the court jester, isn't he my sweet? Raphsidy enters the throne room out of breath. RAPHSIDY (panting) My lord, my mistress, a large fleet has gathered here. FEDOS How unfortunate, I so wanted to enjoy this. Illzar, dispose of them and this...Langdon. ILLZAR Consider it done, my lord. Fedos and Fedora exit with Raphsidy not far behind. Langdon speaks to Monafia. LANGDON Go back to the ship and wait for me there. The two head for the exit, staying as far away from Illzar as possible. The two pace about each other. ILLZAR Your insolence will cost you your life. LANGDON Your arrogance will cost you yours. Illzar smirks and charges him. He attacks using his Tuskan weapons, and for one of his size, moves about with ease. Langdon counters his wide blows with his Killimari, as the two fight throughout the throne room. INT. CZAR STAR CRUISER, BRIDGE Czar Shepard and Commander Wecker stand over a different operator, this time female. FEMALE OPERATOR I've tracked the whereabouts of the cadet's craft, sir. CZAR SHEPARD Have all the cadets rendezvous with it. INT. JESSE'S CRAFT The operator speaks through Jesse's helmet. FEMALE OPERATOR All cadets head toward rendezvous point with stationary craft. I repeat, all cadets head toward rendezvous point with stationary craft. JESSE You got it. Jesse leads the fighters toward Unisee. INT. INTIMIDATOR WARSHIP, BRIDGE Fedos, Fedora, and Raphsidy enter the bridge. Raphsidy immediately checks the radar. RAPHSIDY They've entered the atmosphere. FEDOS We'll don't just stand there, deploy the fighters! EXT. UNISEE, EXTENDED VIEW OF INTIMIDATOR SHIP PORT - MIDDAY A plethora of fighters fly out of the ship port and engage the oncoming cadets, immediately firing upon them. The Uniseeian people look upward in sheer curiosity as fighters from the respective units try to one up each other. We watch as Jesse follows a Bulgata fighter around the vibrant Uniseeian structures. Jesse tries to line up the fighter in his cross hair. JESSE Come on...come on. A buzzing sound is heard, indicating the target has been locked. Jesse fires a Photon Torpedo toward the fighter and destroys it. He speaks to himself. JESSE Bravo, bravo Monsieur Faundoo. Lasers fly past him. He turns to see two Bulgata fighters in hot pursuit of his craft. JESSE The people crave an encore, Monsieur Faundoo. Can you deliver? Damn right. Jesse alludes the attacks by flying around the Uniseeian structures. Occassionally, the lasers of the Bulgata fighters engage the structures. Jesse shakes his head. JESSE You guys aren't even coming close. Here, let me show you how it's done. Jesse descends his craft and flys along the ground. He presses a button and his ship receieves a sudden boost. Seeing Jesse's craft pulling away, the Myrmidions embrace a similar method of boost. They begin to gain on him while firing. Jesse flys around the towering structures and along the ground at break neck speed. He then notices a larger tower coming into view, both in vertical and horizontal measurements. It is the palace. He flys toward it. He gets as close as he can get without dying and begins to pull up. The Bulgata fighters try to mimick his actions, but aren't as skilled. One fighter crashes into the tower while the other tries to turn, but the tower is too wide, and the wing of his craft gets ripped off. The remnants of the ship falls to the ground and explodes. Jesse barely makes it over the structure, but makes it nonetheless. JESSE Next. INT. UNISEEIAN PALACE, THRONE ROOM The palace shakes and quivers from the crash of the fighters. Langdon and Illzar stumble. ILLZAR You fight well, for a human. Illzar pulls out a small rod. He presses a button on it and it extends. Langdon observes. ILLZAR (continuing) But the Bulgata is superior to humans. He takes the Tuskans off of his arms and connects them each to a separate end of the rod. ILLZAR (continuing) Try as you may, but you and your people will be enslaved by us. LANGDON Doubtful. I think you'll find that humanity is more than a match for you and your masters. Illzar spins his newfound weapon circularly and charges Langdon. Langdon blocks, counters, and parries his attacks and attempts to get in attacks of his own. He roundhouse kicks Illzar and he slides along the floor. Illzar flips to his feet and the two become locked in combat once more, both moving at lightning speed. Illzar attempts to sweep him, but Langdon flips over him. Their weapons continue to clash and they continue to perform feats that awe inspire until Illzar punches Langdon in the face and follows up with a swift kick in the stomach. Langdon falls to the ground. Illzar laughs while approaching him. ILLZAR See? There is no use in resistance, you'll only perish. Why not submit to enslavement? Langdon speaks while still on the floor. LANGDON Why not kiss my ass? Illzar looks confused. ILLZAR Given your situation, I assume that's something you humans use as an insult. Langdon stands and rushes him. Illzar is well prepared. INT. INTIMIDATOR WARSHIP, BRIDGE Fedos, Fedora, and Raphsidy look on through the observation screen as the battle continues. Fedos and Fedora show signs of discontent as one of their own gets blown out of the sky. RAPHSIDY We can't win. There were too many of them to begin with. FEDORA How much longer until our army gets here? RAPHSIDY You don't want to know. The Intimidator shakes and quivers. Fedos, Fedora, and Raphsidy stumble. EXT. UNISEE, EXTENDED VIEW OF THE INTIMIDATOR - MIDDAY With most of the Bulgata fighters eliminated, some of the Earth fighters have begun focusing their attention toward the Intimidator. JESSE Let's send em' to hell, boys. Cannons mounted on the Initimidator fire on some unsuspecting Earth fighters and destroy them. Jesse fires a Photon Torpedo at the Intimidator. INT. INTIMIDATOR WARSHIP, BRIDGE Again, Fedos, Fedora, and Raphsidy observe through the observation screen. RAPHSIDY We can't destroy them all with just the Intimidator. Jesse's photon torpedo strikes the Intimidator and it shivers violently. FEDOS Get us out of here! INT. UNISEEIAN PALACE, THRONE ROOM Langdon and Illzar's battle has gotten bloody. Langdon's shirt now carries a large cut along it and we can see flesh, whereas Illzar's arms are rife with cuts. However, the two show no signs of letting up anytime soon. Langdon spin kicks Illzar. He does an array of spins and crashes into the ground. He feels along his lip and uncovers blood. ILLZAR Foolish human. Langdon smirks and enters his stance. Fedos contacts Illzar through his headset. FEDOS Illzar, we are leaving. Get up here, now! ILLZAR But, my lord, I have yet to dispose of the... FEDOS Get up here or stay down there. Your choice. Illzar stands. ILLZAR (continuing) Your death shall come another day, weak human. LANGDON Indeed it will. But it won't be by your hands. Illzar takes one last disgusted look and leaves. Langdon falls to his knees and pants. EXT. UNISEE, EXTENDED VIEW OF THE INTIMIDATOR - MIDDAY Black smoke billows from the Intimidator. The ship begins pulling away from the Uniseeian structures and flys into the unknown, producing a noise on par with the sonic boom. Uniseeians cover their ears. INT. CZAR STAR CRUISER, BRIDGE The personnel of the bridge celebrate the retreat of the Bulgata. Czar Shepard speaks with the Female Opearator. CZAR SHEPARD Take us down to the surface. FEMALE OPERATOR Yes, sir. INT. UNISEEIAN PALACE, THRONE ROOM Monafia and Lord Dalaysis enter with Langdon still on his knees. Monafia rushes toward him. MONAFIA Langdon, you are hurt. LANGDON I'm just a little sore. Monafia helps him up. Lord Dalaysis approaches them. LORD DALAYSIS My daughter informed me of how you defied authority to get here. You not only saved my life, but the Uniseeian people's as well. Whatever you want, you may have it. LANGDON Sir, I couldn't possibly impose on you and your... LORD DALAYSIS No, no, I insist. We have rare treasures here. Perhaps that would tickle your fancy. MONAFIA Father, Langdon didn't do it for a reward. He did it because...that's just the kind of person he is. Langdon smiles. Monafia escorts him out of the throne room. Lord Dalaysis tries to catch up to him. LORD DALAYSIS What of our women? Surely you'd enjoy the pleasure that they'd bestow upon you. EXT. UNISEE, OUTSIDE OF PALACE - MIDDAY The crafts of cadets have been landed and they walk amongst the Uniseeian people, getting aquainted with them and the like. A plethora of female Uniseeians are encamped around Jesse's craft. They listen to his words with much interest. JESSE So I'm up there, flying around and stuff, and all of a sudden, four...no, it had to be ten, ten fighters started chasing after me. FEMALE UNISEEIAN #1 And you defeated them all by yourself? JESSE Well, some of the other guys might've taken out like two or three, but I killed the rest of em'. FEMALE UNISEEIAN #2 Jesse is so brave. FEMALE UNISEEIAN #3 He's the Hero of the Galaxy. Jesse smiles. JESSE Hey, I like that. Faundoo: The Hero of the Galaxy. Langdon, Monafia, and Lord Dalaysis exit from the huge double doors of the palace. Jesse spots them. JESSE I'll be right back, ladies. Don't go anywhere. Jesse catches up to them. JESSE Langdon, Monafia. I thought you guys were gonners. MONAFIA Langdon saved my father. JESSE How ya doin', pops? The name's Faundoo, Jesse Faundoo. Jesse reaches out to shake his hand. Lord Dalaysis looks at him confusingly. He then shakes. LORD DALAYSIS I am...very pleased to meet you, Faundoo. I am Lord Dalaysis. JESSE Hey, the feelings mutual. LANGDON Where's the Czar? With that, the Czar's Star Cruiser begins to descend from the sky. Uniseeians look up in awe. An escape pod flys out of the ship port and heads toward the surface and lands. Its hatch flys open and Czar Shepard and Commander Wecker exit. Again, the Uniseeian people look on with curiosity. Shepard and Wecker head toward Langdon, Monafia, Jesse, and Lord Dalaysis. CZAR SHEPARD Langdon, Monafia, Jesse, I want to congratulate you on a job well done. Shepard turns toward the remaining cadets. CZAR SHEPARD (continuing) All of you, you fought well. You should not only be proud of yourselves, but proud of each other. Nameless cadets smile to themselves. CZAR SHEPARD (continuing) And you, I assume, are Monafia's father. LORD DALAYSIS That is correct. I am Lord Dalaysis, ruler of Unisee. CZAR SHEPERD Then, I invite you to come to my ship, Lord Dalaysis, where we can discuss things. I feel there's a lot we can learn from each other. Czar Shepard escorts Lord Dalaysis to the pod. LANGDON So, I guess I'm suspended or something, right Commander? COMMANDER WECKER Huh? Oh ugh...well, we didn't really discuss a punishment for you. MONAFIA Please sir, don't punish him. Langdon did something today few men would never think of doing. He doesn't deserve punishment, he deserves praise. Langdon smiles. JESSE Yeah, come on Commander, even I have to take my hat off for him. Wecker contemplates. COMMANDER WECKER Czar Shepard didn't seem too upset, so...I guess I could forget about it. LANGDON Thank you, Commander. Wecker nods. COMMANDER WECKER You're a good kid, Langdon. A real good kid. Wecker heads toward the dropship. JESSE Well, I'd better get back to my fans. You two take it easy. Langdon nods. Monafia smiles. Jesse heads back toward the Uniseeian females. They light up when he arrives. Monafia and Langdon head toward the dropship. MONAFIA Are you...going to accept anything from my father? LANGDON Should I? MONAFIA I don't know. Doesn't the prospect of the women excite you? LANGDON Not really. Maybe if I...knew one of them. MONAFIA You know me. The two stop and stare into each other's eyes. MONAFIA What if you could have me? The two kiss, ever so softly. They then stare at one another and put on small smiles. Monafia escorts Langdon to the dropship. FADE OUT:
