The Coming of Night Cascading light ends the day A canvas upon the sky Darkness overwhelms forcing it away The last purple hue fighting to stay Without a chance to ask why Cascading light ends the day It clings evermore, a splinter, a fray Clearly refusing to die Darkness overwhelms forcing it away A final flicker ends the bouquet It’s last chance to say goodbye Cascading light ends the day Killed by a blackness determined to stay With a tear the sun begins to cry Darkness overwhelms forcing it away Creatures of night, begin to prey Feasting on those who can’t try Cascading light ends the day Darkness overwhelms forcing it away
