Nature does show a sense of humor
With its alarming slams on poor judgment And its pale ghosts a-haunting For both these nursing, neurotic sexes; Virile, undaunted men, sensitive enough To attract the proper women, Withstand passion and abusive controls, And dictate both the fraternal and obvious courses of action – Meanwhile, proud, provocative ladies Issue notices about the unenviable restrictions They face at the hands of their worthy Creator, Summoning strength from Him Amid their confusion over love, Relationships, and the ever-inviting matrimony Between desire and sin. But once in a long while, Someone strong and self-assured meets A selfless and generous lady; Both can see roses at the end Of that emotionally dark and floral garden path; Until the ugly and unfortunate divorce proceedings Reveal that both sides have no such Clear and communicative understanding: The treachery, finances, and possible other, Significant unions loom in the shadows Of their disagreeable, iffy, and challenging lives...
