Christmas Morn

Controlled chaos!
I'm at a loss.
Words come across
but make no sense.

Under the tree
gifts seem to flee.
A grabbing spree!
There's no defense.

Christmas, like life,
seems full of strife.
Bedlam runs rife.
It's so intense.

Still, there is joy;
Each girl and boy
wrappings destroy -
Let play commence!

Intervening,
I start cleaning
with new meaning
of "present" tense!
