Remembrance
Needles, dry and brittle, fall like jostled ornaments. Scattered under the Christmas tree, only the scent lingers. Notes: An entry for December 26 of "A Poem A Day Contest" Prompts used: Prompt 1 and 3 Prompt 1:Write a poem with the words “Christmas tree” and “ornament” or “ornaments”. Prompt 3: Write a Pensee Poem. The Pensee is a 5 line poem with a syllabic structure of subject – 2 syllables/description – 4 syllables/action – 7 syllables/setting – 8 syllables/final thought – 6 syllables.
