Fishing for a living.
12/27/2011 entry for the Writer's Cramp

There’s no other way to tell the story.
I’m out there in that old Swampscot dory,
spending my days fishing for a living.

The afternoon sun is unforgiving.
From dawn to dusk, just me on the ocean,
employing my craft through great devotion
with waves lapping against the hull,

occasionally laughing with a gull,
and basking in the grace of God’s glory.
There’s no other way to tell the story.
